Raiding Population More Than Doubles Previous Peak on Classic Anniversary Servers

With the release of the Tier 4 Raids, ironforge.pro shows that over 242,000 characters logged raids on The Burning Crusade Anniversary servers last week. This figure is more than double the previous peak on Classic Anniversary servers.

Are Post-Nerf Raids Too Easy?

The previous peak on Classic Anniversary servers came with the release of Blackwing Lair in March of 2025. While the raiding population remained steady for the duration of Classic Anniversary, this peak was merely 103,000 total characters.

Several factors could contribute to this massive increase in raiding population, including the post-nerf ease of the Tier 4 raids, the success of the level 58 character boost, and the changes to account-wide attunements on The Burning Crusade Anniversary servers. While it is unlikely that this population remains as steady as the Classic Anniversary raiding population (especially with the imminent release of the Midnight expansion), it is encouraging to see some player growth on the Classic servers.

It should be noted that ironforge.pro uses data from WarcraftLogs, which does not account for players who do not raid or log their raids. This means that the number of characters on The Burning Crusade Anniversary servers is likely much higher than the overall raiding population of 242,000.

Did you expect the raiding population of The Burning Crusade Anniversary servers to increase by this much? Do you think this player population is sustainable, or will players fall off during the more difficult content Phases ahead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
