Laura Sardinha (Lead UX Designer) and Toby Raigini (Design Lead focused on Player Housing) was interviewed by Kexman on his YouTube channel.

Make sure to check out the full video for the full context, but we're summarized the important points below.

Damage Meters

An official World of Warcraft damage meter is coming to WoW.

You can have multiple panels which can show healing, damage, etc, but some stuff is TBD

Enemy Nameplates

There's going to be a lot of presets: Classic-inspired, purple and big, modernized and many other options.

They improved how threat works, there's a fire effect when you're pulling threat on the mobs.

There's also an indicator when a mob goes behind you.

Boss Timers

There will be a timeline showing abilities and what's coming in the base UI.

This is the start of improving raid and combat UI.

Transmog

The whole window was revamped. It's more organized and bigger.

They're introducing "Outfits". These are slots of outfits you want to wear. They're going to give some slots for free to players. You can buy more but they should be cheap.

You can call an outfit a "Housing" outfit and then go to a tab where you set it so everytime you go into your House, you'll automatically wear that outfit.

Since things are saved to slots, when you get a new piece of gear you won't look "like a clown", especially while leveling up at the start of the expansion.

Player Housing

Housing is something that players have been asking for a while. They didn't just want to do the bare minimimum and wanted to exceed expectations

There's a lot of new technology for player housing. They started working on some assets all the way back in Legion.

They made a brand new UI for player housing.

There's a house chest that is your collection. They wanted to make sure you're able to find the thing you want, so they made filters and keywords work right away.

There will be over 1,000 decor items.

It is someone's job to find the perfect place for all these decor items to drop

There are many ways you can search. You have the category icons; we did a lot of user research to make sure that "this is a lamp" or "a rug". The search bar is very very good because if you are a Night Elf and you want your living room to be very night elf, if you type Night Elf, it will filter everything for you.

Outdoors

There is an outside area and you can add decorations there!

Similar to the barber shop UI, you're going to see the full house with options on the right. You can add towers, or other elements to your house.

There are 4 exterior kits on launch: Orc, Human, Blood Elf and Night Elf but they're hoping to build from there.

Endeavors

The goal with Endeavors is to send you from your neighborhood back into Azeroth.

It's a cross between a World Quest and the Trading Post log, but just for your neighborhood.

Endeavors are themed around different culture visiting your neighborhood.

You can access Endeavors from anywhere.
