Mining Overview
On March 24th, the Vengeful Lashers that are woken from Wild Herbalism nodes in Zul'Aman were made to be friendly with players who did not activate them. This change was made due to players constantly picking the herbalism node and then flying away, making it very difficult for other players to pick the same node as the Lashers would then be protecting it, interrupting players who wanted the Herbs.
However, no change was made to the mining nodes which had the same concept. Rumbling Oreling would spawn from Wild Mining nodes in Zul'Aman, and it wasn't uncommon to find a Wild Node surrounded by Orelings. By the time you kill the Orelings, the node could despawn, or other players could add more Orelings.
With a hotfix that just went live, it looks like the Orelings are now friendly to other players, allowing you to go in and get your rewards without being bothered by others.
That being said, if you want a lot of Ore, make sure to kill the Orelings and then mine them again. This gives a lot of extra materials that you would lose out if you fly away!
