Retribution Paladin Buffs and Affliction Warlock Nerfs Incoming – Upcoming Class Tuning Incoming

Retribution Paladins buffs and Affliction Warlock nerfs are coming with the weekly reset!

With the beginning of Season 3 raiding, dungeons, and PvP, we very quickly saw data that supported making tuning adjustments to a number of classes that are over- and under-performing. These adjustments will be implemented with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region (20 August in this region).

Classes

Mage

Fire

All damage dealt increased by 4%.

Flamestrike damage increased by 8%.

Paladin

Retribution

All damage increased by 5%. Does not apply to PvP combat.

Warlock

Affliction

All damage dealt reduced by 3%. Does not affect PvP.

Warrior

Arms

All damage dealt increased by 8%. Does not apply to PvP combat.

Player versus Player

The 2-piece bonus from equipping Gladiator’s Medallion and Gladiator’s Emblem now grants an additional 5% stamina in PvP combat.

Developers’ note: This is intended to slightly increase the time it takes to kill an enemy in PvP combat, to give players more time to react to incoming burst.

Death Knight

Anti-Magic Zone reduces magic damage taken by 30% in PvP combat (was 15%)

Frost

Deathbringer: Reaper’s Mark damage reduced by 25% in PvP combat.

Unholy

Death Coil damage reduced by 10% in PvP combat.

Druid

Balance

Whirling Stars reduces Celestial Alignment or Incarnation: Chosen of Elune duration by 30% in PvP combat (was 20%).

Damage of spells and abilities reduced by 4% in PvP combat.

Mage

Frostfire: Frostfire Bolt damage reduced by 13% in PvP combat.

Frostfire: Isothermic Core’s Comet Storm is called down at 150% effectiveness in PvP combat (was 200%).

Arcane

Sunfury: Arcane Soul now increases the damage of Arcane Barrage by 5% per stack in PvP (was 15%).

Fire

Hyperthermia’s stacking damage bonus to Pyroblast and Flamestrike reduced to 5% per stack in PvP combat (was 15%).

Rogue

Fatebound: Fatebound Coin (Tails) and Lucky Coin damage reduced by 33% in PvP combat.
