Enemy Damage Taken on the Damage Meter
While the Damage Meter is great for keeping track of general damage and healing metrics, an uncommon but useful piece of info to keep track of is Enemy Damage Taken. Especially in higher-difficulty content, being able to keep track of how much damage targets are taking can be useful if a specific target needs to be burst down sooner than everything else.
Here is our first look at the Enemy Damage Taken metric on Blizzard's Damage Meter.
There are a few convenient functionality pieces available with this metric, including:
Rarity logos beside the name of the mob (Elites vs. Non-elites)
Both Total Damage and DPS taken are listed, with DPS taken listed in parentheses
Likely for PvP, class icons are displayed next to the name of the target
Clicking a target's name opens up a separate box displaying who did what amount of damage to the target
What Functionality is Not Included?
Being able to track Enemy Damage Taken is incredibly useful; however, certain features could improve this metric of the damage meter.
Having a Boss logo instead of Elite vs. Non-elite would help distinguish which target is the boss during a fight.
The class logos currently show up next to PvE targets, which causes a lot of confusion.
Targets with the same name are not distinguishable and instead are all categorized into one name on the meter. This can present weirdly, with a target taking over 100% of damage taken if there are multiple targets of the same type.
