In an interview with Destructoid, Lead Visual Development Artist Gabriel Gonzalez and Associate Design Director Maria Hamilton revealed a few more details about Housing Endeavor, the Black Blood of the Old Gods, and beginning to unite the Elves in Midnight.

The Big WoW Midnight Interview with Destructoid

Housing Endeavor System

Endeavors are an opportunity for neighborhoods to work as a group to achieve a goal and earn some kind of prize. The criteria is quite varied, from things related to housing, completing tasks or exploring older zones, and so on. It isn't intended to be grindy, and because some neighborhoods can be very large or tiny, the goal will be appropriately scaled based on the size of the neighborhood.

Rewards-wise, you may unlock decor, and there's a concept of unlocking visitors who visit to sell something interesting as well (seemingly similar to Garrison visitors in WoD).

Changing neighborhoods is something the team is actively working on. Maria Hamilton isn't personally familiar with the details yet, but she suspects any unlocks should carry over, even if your new neighborhood hasn't completed that endeavor yet. You should still be able to help them unlock it again when the time comes, but the goal isn't to take anything away from players or make them earn it again.

While Garrisons were heavily tied to the campaign and heavily focused on convenience, Housing doesn't need to be. The team is focusing on creating, customizing, and finding a way to encourage folks to collaborate as a community. Its their hope that players will choose to live in a neighborhood with friends or guild members, which is incentivized by allowing players to socially unlock things through Endeavors, but random public neighborhoods are available as well.

Housing is an evergreen system and will continue well beyond Midnight.

The Black Blood

We're not likely to fight against or see the Black Blood again in Midnight. It's Old God related, while we're focusing more on the cosmic side of the void in Midnight, which has its own distinct visual theme that's very airy, has a lot more light, and crystals.

With the idea of a trilogy, each expansion in the World Soul Saga is able to introduce new elements that can tie back together later on. We're starting to understand what happened with Beledar, we've seen the Old God's Black Blood seep into our planet, and that's probably going to come up again later.

Uniting the Elves

There are man years of trauma between the various elven tribes, so bringing them together isn't something that will be easily solved, but Azeroth is facing a common threat, so those groups need to talk again.

A lot of players don't even know the lore, such as why the Blood Elves were banished, so this will be an opportunity to educate those folks about that part of the story and reveal them coming together.

A lot of plot threads are being established early, but the developers are thinking all the way through to the final large content release of the World Soul Saga, so story beats are spaced over each of the three expansions.

"But I can’t say that in Midnight proper you will begin that effort to bring the tribes back together."
(based on context, it seems like she meant to say "I can say you will begin to bring the tribes back together" so this may be a typographical error)
