<Progress> Breaks the SSC Speedrun Record, Clearing in Just 29 Minutes – The Burning Crusade Anniversary

Last week, the guild <Progress> on the Spineshatter (EU) realm broke the Serpentshrine Cavern speedrun record, finishing the raid with a time of 29:01! Member of the guild and Wowhead writer, Babyhoof uploaded a VOD of this run on their channel.

Serpentshrine Cavern Raid Overview

While you can watch the full run above, WoW Classic content creator and Wowhead contributor Slesh recently analyzed this speedrun to determine what made this run so special and how other raids can learn from these methods.

While you can watch the full analysis above, some of the key methods that <Progress> used to accomplish this feat include:

Always moving and keeping mana topped off by drink-walking.

Healers using Jade Pendant of Blasting in caster-heavy group comps.

Using Pendant of Frozen Flame and Shadow Resistance consumables during the Fathom-Lord Karathress encounter.

Using other minor consumables, such as Kreeg's Stout Beatdown, Goldenmist Special Brew, Gnomish Cloaking Device to avoid patrols, Elixir of Water Walking to catch up in case you die and don't have a Shaman nearby, and Greater Rune of Warding & Greater Ward of Shielding to help mitigate damage even further.

Congratulations to <Progress> and Babyhoof on this accomplishment, and special thanks to Slesh for providing analysis on this Serpentshrine Cavern speedrun record!
