Useful Reputations & Consumables to Farm Ahead of Phase 3 – The Burning Crusade Anniversary

As players continue to blast their way through The Burning Crusade Anniversary Phase 2 raids, Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep, some have started preparing for what's next. While we don't have a release date for Phase 3 yet, it's never too early to prepare, and Slesh has you covered with his ultimate Phase 3 prep guide!

Mark of the Illidari Flasks

With Phase 3 comes a new vendor that sells Flasks in exchange for Mark of the Illidari. While these flasks can only be used in 25-player raids, they will be much cheaper to acquire than the current flasks on the Auction House.

While these Flasks are excellent, and Marks of the Illidari will be plentiful in Phase 3, players may be surprised to learn that they will be required to be Exalted with three Factions before the vendor will sell these Flasks. If you're preparing for Phase 3, make sure to max out your reputation with The Sha'tar, Cenarion Expedition, and either The Aldor or The Scryers to unlock these Flasks.

Sulfuron Slammer

Sulfuron Slammer can be purchased in the Blackrock Depths dungeon from Plugger Spazzring in the Grim Guzzler. Consuming one of these will inflict 4 fire damage to your character every 3 seconds, for a duration of 6 seconds.

This can be useful during the Anetheron encounter in Hyjal Summit to break the Sleep ability.

Stratholme Holy Water

In addition to the bosses Teron Gorefiend and Rage Winterchill, there are also several packs of Undead enemies in the Phase 3 raids.

While this item does not share a cooldown with Super Sapper Charge, using a Holy Water will put a 1-minute cooldown on your Sapper.

Wail of the Banshee

Wail of the Banshee can drop from Baroness Anastari in Stratholme Undead. While these do have a chance to fizzle on enemies who are over level 60, the 10% Hit reduction could be the difference in your raid clearing a boss or not.

While this item is unique, it does have 3 charges, so it can be used multiple times before you need to farm another one.

The Phylactery of Kel'Thuzad

The Phylactery of Kel'Thuzad is a guaranteed drop from Kel'Thuzad, the final boss of Naxxramas. While it may be a struggle to convince your raid group to go back into this Classic raid, this quest item provides players with an amazing trinket that will be extremely useful in many Phase 3 raid encounters.

Petrified Scarab

Another item from a legacy raid, however, the Petrified Scarab can be much faster to farm, as it has a chance to drop off the second boss in Ahn'Qiraj. When fighting Bug Trio, make sure to kill Lord Kri last for a chance at this item.

This Trinket is great for mitigating spell damage and can be particularly beneficial during the Illidan Stormrage encounter.

Elixir of Demonslaying

While the Flasks from Mark of the Illidari are still considered the best option for Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep, Elixir of Demonslaying will be much better for melee DPS in the Phase 3 raids.

In addition to these, Slesh goes over even more consumables and resistance options that players can prepare now, ahead of The Burning Crusade Anniversary Phase 3. You can watch his full video here.
