Last week, Blizzard changed direct damage Embellishments such as Roiling Shadowflame to no longer interact with certain class-specific spells and abilities such as Fiery Demise, which ever since Battle for Azeroth have been intended to only interact with other class spells and abilities.

May 5 Hotfixes – Embellishments Benefit from Versatility Again
Blizzard has posted hotfixes for Dragonflight: Embers of Neltharion, with a note that last week's change to Embellishments has been reverted and replaced with a more robust change, alongside various bug fixes.
