Another small quality of life improvement coming in Patch 9.1.5 will be the ability to spend anima on a bind-on-account item to increase covenant followers experience. The Timebound Ruminations costs 10,000 Reservoir Anima and awards 5,000 experience to the follower of your choice, making it a quick way to help jumpstart newly recruited level 1 champions or when switching to a new covenant, which also becomes easier in Patch 9.1.5.
