Legion Remix OverviewLegion Remix: Gearing
First of All: Reach The Initial Item Level Cap
In Legion Remix, there are 2 item level caps: An item level cap for gear from most sources, and a second item level cap for what's considered endgame gear sources. Most of the gear below will come from sources like drops from mobs in the open world, dungeon bosses, inside Cache of Infinite Treasure and Raid Finder bosses.
Item level from most sources has the following caps, depending on gear quality:
Uncommon gear caps out at iLvl 571.
Rare gear caps out at iLvl 578.
Epic gear from most sources caps out at iLvl 584.
Endgame gear sources can grow much further than ilvl584, going to a maximum of iLvl 740. Endgame gear sources go up in item level as you reach them, based on your bag item level (ie, the items you have on your bags, not items that you necessarily have equipped).
We recommend trying to get your bag item level to a minimum of iLvl 580 before attempting to use the following features to increase your item level further.
A Note on Jewelry
Obtaining Jewelry is important to increase your item level and get higher and higher gear with Legion Remix's gearing system, but you do not need to equip the highest item level piece of jewelry to raise your item level, if it ends up having a bad trait (screw you, Arcane Aegis!). You can keep a jewelry with a better trait, but lower item level equipped, as long as you maintain any higher level jewelry pieces in your bags. The only thing you lose out on by doing this is Stamina.
Addons such as Easy Scrap are great to help manage gear scrapping in Legion Remix, with Easy Scrap also having a function to add certain pieces of gear to an ignore list, preventing that piece of gear from being accidentally scrapped.
We recommend obtaining the following jewelry pieces, as they contain the best traits as of the time of posting in Legion Remix:
NeckTouch of Malice - Pendant of the Watchful Eye
RingsTerror From Below - Seal of the Nazjatar EmpireVolatile Magics - Band of Callous Dominance (if playing a Melee)Brewing Storm - Grasping Tentacle Loop (if playing a Caster)
TrinketsTerror From Below - Lure of the Unknown DepthsTouch of Malice - Volatile Chaos Talisman
Obtaining Endgame Item Level Gear in Legion Remix
Below, we have a list of activities players can do to obtain higher-level gear in Legion Remix.
Complete Quests and do Heroic Dungeons
Yes, that's right. Questing in Legion Remix is an effective, if slightly dull, way of obtaining higher level gear. Every quest in Legion Remix awards a Cache of Infinite Treasure, which contains 1-2 Mote of a Broken Time per chest. Questing is done entirely solo, and there are questlines (especially Suramar campaigns) that have a significant amount of quests, which directly translates to significant amounts of Infinite Treasures (and Motes).
Completing quests is also important, as you can obtain a total of 5 Infinite Knowledge points by completing each Lorerunner achievement for the 5 main Broken Isles zones. Infinite Knowledge increases Infinite Power gains, which makes your artifact leveling faster.
You can also queue for Heroic Dungeons while questing - In Heroic dungeons, each boss can drop up to 2 motes, and you get 2 Caches of Infinite Treasure for completing a Heroic Dungeon via the group finder, so it is a decent way to farm gear on the side while questing.
World Quests also give caches on completion, awarding normal Infinite Cache chests on Normal World Tier and Heroic Cache of Infinite Treasure in Heroic World Tier, which awards more items such as Motes.
Farm Caches of Infinite Power
Cache of Infinite Power comes from sources like Infinite Research quests, Emissary World Quest turn-ins and sometimes as World Boss rewards in Heroic World Tier. Caches of Infinite Power will always contain a piece of gear scaled to match your bag item level.
Run Raids Every Day
Raids are a great way to get a headstart on both gearing and Infinite Power - Every raid boss drops at least 1 Mote of a Broken Time (scaling as you go up in difficulty, up to 4 per boss in Mythic), starting at level 80, as well as a scaling quantity of Fragmented Memento of Epoch Challenges, the best source for Infinite Power. In addition to this, every raid boss has a chance to drop a scalable piece of gear when doing Normal mode or above!
As a reminder, in Legion Remix, all raids are on a daily lockout.
You can run Heroic raids starting once you hit level 80. We recommend an iLvl of 610 or higher to start running Mythic raids.
Run Mythic+!
As of right now, Mythic+ is the fastest way to obtain Mote of a Broken Time! Even a key as low as +2 gives a nice quantity of Motes. As of right now, Motes are rewarded more from key length rather than key level - A +2 Arcway run will reward as many motes as a +20 Maw of Souls.
You can obtain a Timeworn Keystone by talking with Lindormi by the Heroic World Tier console at the Infinite Bazaar. With gear levels in Legion Remix, lower keys do not really need a 1-1-3 composition.
