TBC Classic Jewelcrafting Guide
Mining Epic Gems in TBC Classic
The first raid players will enter in Phase 3, Hyjal Summit, offers mining nodes for these new Epic gems that will spawn between the Alliance and Horde camp and the Horde and Night Elf camp. These nodes will only spawn once you talk to Lady Jaina Proudmoore and Thrall after finishing the two bosses in each respective camp.
When you defeat Anetheron, speak to Jaina, and the Ancient Gem Vein will spawn between the camps. Once you defeat Azgalor, talk to Thrall, and these nodes will spawn again.
Cross your fingers for a Crimson Spinel and not Shattered Gem Fragments...
There will be a total of around eight nodes per run for you to mine, hoping for a chance to get these new uncut gems. Make sure you have someone in your raid with 375 Mining, or these potential gems will go to waste, which is literally thousands of gold down the drain!
Black Temple Epic Gems in TBC Classic
Unlike in Mount Hyjal, the Black Temple will give you Epic gems through drops from trash mobs. Our database shows that all the trash mobs have a chance of dropping these gems, so if you don't have a max-level miner, it won't hurt you in this raid!
Once these gems are obtained, Jewelcrafters can cut them after purchasing the patterns from Indormi, requiring reputations from Friendly to Revered with The Scale of the Sands
Indormi is located inside the instance of Mount Hyjal.
