How Attainable Are the New Keystone Myth and Umbral Champion Achievements in 12.0.5

In a surprise announcement, Blizzard revealed two new achievements to chase in Patch 12.0.5, offering specialized rewards and giving players a reason to continue pushing keys in what is being described as one of the easiest Mythic+ seasons to date.

Keystone Myth
Upon reaching 3400 Mythic+ rating, players will earn a Timelost Saddle (earned once per warband per season). This item can be brought to Lindormi in Silvermoon or the Timeways, where it can be exchanged for a mount of your choice from a curated selection. This includes Keystone Master and Keystone Legend mounts from previous seasons, as well as all new mounts being added to the pool.

Umbral Champion
With the close of Midnight Season One, players in the top 1% of Mythic+ rating will qualify for a new achievement, Umbral Champion, and be awarded a new exclusive mount.

How Hard is it?
It's no secret that World of Warcraft players are overwhelmingly driven by rewards, more so than challenge or perceived prestige. While we do not yet have concrete information on what all the new rewards will be, the bigger question is how attainable these achievements are for players who don't normally have a reason to push so high.

Previously, the majority of rewards capped out at +10, granting portals and maximizing weekly vault rewards. As a result, this is where most players stop.

In previous seasons, around 25% of players achieved Keystone Master (2500) and 12-15% achieved Keystone Legend (3k), with few players pushing beyond due to a lack of guaranteed rewards. However, having a new carrot to chase is certain incentivize more players to continue progressing.

3400 score is the base value for timing all eight dungeons at +16.

Once again, we turn to Jordan for stats on the subject, who has already created a breakdown of the current top 1% and top 0.1%, using data from Mplus-title and Raider.IO. Of course, these numbers are certain to change as we get deeper into the season.

Remember that we are still very early in the season, with two entire patches and a lot of power inflation to follow.

Interestingly, we can see that 3400 is pretty close to the top 1% right now, though we are still relatively early in the season, so these numbers are certain to change as player power continues to increase over the coming months. In addition to gaining more item level, players will soon have access to the the Voidforge, while Patch 12.0.7 will feature an entirely new raid boss.

For reference, 120 points is equivalent to an extra key level across all dungeons.

More interesting is comparing these ratings just a few weeks into Midnight with end-of-season scores of the past, which shows a significant bump. Whether due to faster gearing, more lenient timers, or altogether more approachable dungeons, this again all points to players having a much easier time completing higher level dungeons this season, making at least the 3400 score Keystone Myth achievement very achievable by players who normally reach Keystone Legend.
