Starting off simply enough, checking in with Lady Liadrin and the other Sunwell defenders. After reviewing their forces and receiving their blessing, players are sent to assist High Exarch Turalyon and Magister Umbric in seeking Clarity of Purpose in the fight against the void... which does not appear to be going as well as they hoped.
Assisting the duo in disrupting enemy forces and saving captured Void Elves will award a Swirling Ritual Pedestal decor before sending players on to Seek out Arator, who is also saving beleaguered allies and healing a few more. These quick quests are relatively uneventful, but the family vacation wouldn't be complete if we didn't go see Alleria next, who is tracking down void beasts that appear to be running off with members of the Vanguard in The Patient Hunter.
Following the beast's trail results in a jailbreak before delivering Killing Blow and escorting the starstruck officer to safety. An oddly cute quest, given the severity of the situation, which results in some new dialogue and prompts players to return to Turalyon.
Reporting success in the ominously named Nothing Stands Forever also reunites the family, expanding on their increasingly strained relationship, as Alleria confronts Turalyon over his confrontation with Arator in Eversong Woods earlier in the campaign.
Am I the only one who recalls that Arator jumped in front of Turalyon's sword?
And that's it. Step one of the Midnight endgame quest campaign is completed, with a timer counting down to the next step. The vanguard assault begins next week, allowing access to The Voidspire raid, as well as The Dreamrift, and the rest of Season 1 content.
Humorously, the timer caps at 7 days, so if you arrived early enough it looked as though it would complete early this morning.
