Diablo 2’s New Collection Feature Keeps Deleting Progress: Blizzard Announces Workaround

Blizzard is aware of Diablo 2 Chronicle Issues, where players are having their collection wiped when identifying unique and set items dropped from racks. The Chronicle is a new addition to the Diablo 2: Reign of the Warlock DLC, and serves as a collection of every item dropped by the player during their journey, making it very frustrating when it fully deletes the entire collection in certain instances!

To combat this, Blizzard is planning on rolling out a hotfix that addresses the issue, but for now, if you get a Unique or Set item to drop from a Weapon or Armor rack, do not identify it. Blizzard has clarified that the item is safe to loot and keep unidentified in your inventory or stash for later.

For the next short while, do not identify any set or unique items in the Chronicle that have dropped from weapon or armor racks. Identifying these items for Chronicle tracking will wipe out data for the entire Chronicle whenever we save out the character next.

You can keep these items unidentified in your inventory or stash right now. Once we deploy a fix during our next server hotfix it will then be safe to identify.
