Ladder Week 2 Class Distribution in Diablo II: Resurrected – More Diversity?

We've completed Week 2 of Diablo II: Resurrected's first Ladder season, and more characters are being created on the Ladders -- nearly double the numbers as the first week.

I created one (barely) level 10 character for each class on the Expansion Normal ladder to get snapshots of server populations and class distributions, as this is the easiest way to estimate numbers on the Ladder.

World First Level 99 Character on Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season by Teo1904

In a true display of dedication, Teo1904 is the first player to reach Level 99 with his Lightning Javazon in Diablo II: Resurrected's inaugural Ladder Season 1. The total playtime from 1 to 99 amounted to 138 hours, and the last level from 98 to 99 alone took over 28 hours. According to Teo's stream overlay, the total amount of sleep he got in over the last 8 nights equals 34 hours, so less than 5 hours of sleep every night for more than a week straight!

Ladder Class Distribution in Diablo II: Resurrected – Sorceress, Paladin, and Everyone Else

With over 500,000 characters currently counted on all four Ladders since its introduction on April 28th, it's interesting to look at how the class distributions break down for the Ladders. This poses the question: has the meta for Ladder changed?

Short answer: no, at least in not in Normal (non-Hardcore) ladders. Sorceresses and Paladins have always dominated the S-tier and A-tier of Ladder recommendation lists, and it appears that, in Normal ladders at least, this is totally true.

Over 500,000 Players on First Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season

After the first three days of Diablo II: Resurrected's Ladder Season 1, over 500,000 players have been ranked on the official leaderboards. Just two weeks ago, an official press release has unveiled that Diablo II: Resurrected has sold over 5 million units since launch last year. The following rounded numbers have been gathered by analyzing the in-game ladder option across all four game modes:

Best Ladder Builds for Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season 1

Now that we've had some time to explore and play with the content in Diablo II: Resurrected Patch 2.4, let's take a look at some character builds that might be successful and fun to play in Ladder Season 1, which starts in just a few hours. If you like, call it the "top tier" builds for the season. However, we're not looking necessarily at the very strongest builds, but rather those that share a few qualities, in addition to being strong in the game, whether solo, grouped or hardcore.

Ladder Season 1 Runewords in Diablo II: Resurrected Patch 2.4 Analyzed – Best New Runewords, Recommendations

Ladder Season 1, which launches April 28, 2022, will also introduce seven new Runewords -- two Helms and five Weapons. These can only be used by characters playing Ladder during this first Ladder Season of Diablo II: Resurrected. When Ladder Season 1 is over, these Runewords will be available to everyone playing the Expansion version of Patch 2.4.

These are the first new Runewords released in many years, although these won't be the last.

The launch of Diablo II: Resurrected's Ladder Season 1 is approaching, so we take a look at our freshly updated Best Farming Locations Guide, which now includes every new Area Level 85 zone introduced with Patch 2.4.

Diablo II's farming meta-game has settled for over two decades now, leaving players with the same spots, zones, and bosses to clear. In one of Patch 2.4's biggest changes, Blizzard increases the number of Area Level 85 zones by over 100%!
