Morgan Day revealed more information about the Shards of Domination system in his interview with Sloot. Here are all the datamined Shard Effects from the 9.1 PTR!

Shards of Domination Gem Sockets

Certain drops in the raid have Domination Gem sockets such PH - DNT - 9.1 Raid Mail Chest. According to Morgan Day, you should be able to have 5 Domination sockets on your gear and you can socket special Shards of Domination in there.
