Darkmoon Faire Reputation Buff No Longer Applies to Midnight Renown

With the launch of Early Access, we've learned that the Darkmoon Faire reputation buff will no longer apply to the new Midnight faction renown!

Several hotfixes have been pushed over the past few days, including a new spell linked to the Darkmoon Top Hat and WHEE! buff gained from the carousel ride. Ominously named I Don't Feel So Well..., it seems someone had a little too much fun at the faire, because it applies a reputation penalty to specific renown added in the Midnight expansion - canceling out the usual gain.

The WHEE! buff effects on the left are now offset by Midnight renown-specific debuffs from I Don't Feel So Well....

The list of affected reputations includes everything coming in Midnight, as well as the third season of The War Within Delves, which is still technically ongoing. Because it only affects these specific renowns, this means the Darkmoon Faire buff still has a valid use in speeding up gains from previous expansions, it just won't help you get ahead on any of the new ones. And because of the way this additional buff was set up, and when it was hotfixed in, existing Darkmoon Faire buffs from the last Darkmoon Faire likely don't have this penalty applied and still provide a reputation bonus.

Hara'ti - Harandar

Amani Tribe - Zul'Aman

The Singularity - Voidstorm

Silvermoon Court - Silvermoon City

Magisters - Silvermoon sub-faction

Farstriders - Silvermoon sub-faction

Blood Knights - Silvermoon sub-faction

Shades of the Row - Silvermoon sub-faction

Prey: Season 1

Delves: Season 1

Delves: Season 3

Valeera Sanguinar

Assuming this works how we expect it to, there would no longer be any reason to horde your quests or reputation turn-ins for the Darkmoon Faire this Sunday... in fact it might even be detrimental! Because of the way these spell effects are multiplied, it seems that you may actually lose a small amount of reputation compared to not having gotten the buff in the first place. It should only be a 1% difference, but it would be a humorous and relatively harmless backfire for players trying to gain an edge on the new expansion renown grind.
