Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ Overview Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ Rewards
CC Break Abilities
There are two types of movement impairing effects commonly found in World of Warcraft: snares and roots. In this season, some threatening spells have a root/snare component attached to them which allows them to be removed by CC breaking abilities.
Here are some of the more common abilities that can be applied to yourself or another party member that can be used for all of these abilities.
Druid - Shapeshift to any Druid Form
Demon Hunter - Vengeful Retreat
Evoker - Rescue (clears self and others)
Hunter - Disengage (Requires Posthaste talent)
Mage - Ice Block and Prismatic Barrier/Ice Barrier/Blazing Barrier (Requires Energized Barriers talent)
Monk - Tiger's Lust
Paladin - Blessing of Freedom
Priest - Fade (Requires Phantasm talent)
Rogue - Vanish
Shaman - Spirit Walk
Warlock - Demonic Circle: Teleport with Soulburn
Warrior - Berserker Rage (Requires Fearless talent)
These abilities can help deal with troubling mob casts throughout the Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ dungeons.
Magister's Terrace
Ethereal Shackles is cast by Arcane Sentry bots and the Arcanotron Custos, rooting players in place for 15 seconds. While a player is rooted, they take Arcane damage.
The Arcane Sentry bots cast Ethereal Shackles on the Tank. Freeing your Tank from this root can be helpful if there are puddles caused by the Arcane Sentry's Arcane Beam.
Archanotron Custos casts Ethereal Shackles onto two players in the party. It is especially helpful to remove this root effect from Melee DPS, allowing them to continue hitting the boss.
Maisara Caverns
After defeating the first boss in Maisara Caverns, players will run into a mini-boss named Rokh'zal. In the middle of the room is a ritual altar. Occasionally, Rokh'zal will target a player with Ritual Sacrifice. This sends the player to the altar, rooting them in place until the shackles are destroyed.
Removing the root effect will free the player from the altar, saving other players from having to hit the shackles.
Nexus-Point Xenas
In the left wing of Nexus-Point Xenas, there are a few Flux Engineers who place Suppression Field on a party member. Players afflicted by Suppression Field have a purple circle around them, causing a 50% slow effect for 10 seconds.
If a player with Suppression Field tries to move, they explode Shadow damage onto the party and themselves. Remove this effect to save the party from additional damage.
Pit of Saron
Plungetalon Gargoyles are one of the most troubling mobs in Pit of Saron due to Plungegrip. Plungegrip grabs a player, pulling them upward, dealing damage to the player. While pulling a player, the gargoyle gains a barrier that must be broken before the cast can be interrupted.
If a player isn't broken from the grip of the gargoyle, they are stunned for 5 seconds. Luckily, Plungegrip is a root effect, meaning root breaks will immediately interrupt the cast.
Pit of Saron also has Rimebone Coldwraith elites that inflict players with Permeating Cold, a 40% movement slow that also causes Frost damage. While these can be magically dispelled by the healer, the same abilities also remove this effect!
Seat of the Triumvirate
At the start of the dungeon and before the second boss, there are Merciless Subjugator. These cast Chains of Subjugation which affects every player. You can use snare breaking abilities to remove this heavy DoT. If you pull multiple at the same time, the cast usually syncs up so you can remove multiple at a time!
