Blizzard Investigates Abyss Anglers Bug that Blocks Suit Progression

Blizzard has acknowledged that the Abyss Anglers: Reinforced Joints Achievement is currently bugged. This is preventing players from purchasing the Reinforced Joints, and limiting progression in Abyss Anglers. The issue is currently under investigation.

We’re aware that after completing the achievement, Reinforced Joints may not appear for purchase. We’re investigating the issue.

This bug, in particular, is problematic for players looking to progress their diving journey. Swim speed makes a huge difference in the efficiency of a dive, letting you get to further areas from the spawn much faster, leading to higher point accumulation. Since pearl drops at the end of a run are determined by your point total, farming currency is significantly easier with better diving suits.

While right now, Abyss Anglers only has cosmetic rewards, it's highly likely that any future Midnight Meta Achievement (similar to the achievements A World Awoken and Back from the Beyond) will include an Abyss Anglers section, meaning players will need to earn Abyss Anglers: Pearls to the Abyss. For those unlucky enough to be victims of this bug, they currently can't.
