Midnight Patch 12.0.5 Overview
Patch 12.0.5 Transmog Changes
With the official Patch 12.0.5 Patch notes, we got the full list of changes arriving with the new content on April 21st. While we previously covered the new weapon sheathing options, there's some juicy additions to transmog that can help take your fashion game to a whole new level.
USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY
TRANSMOGRIFICATION
New weapon sheathing options have been added, including an option to hide weapons when sheathed.
Added a Sheathe Weapon toggle to the transmog preview pane.
Added a /outfit command to change outfits. Use /outfit x, with x being the outfit's order number in the transmogrification pane. Using /outfit with no number or /outfit x with that outfit already equipped will clear all transmogs instead (use /outfit !x to avoid this behavior). Trial of Style outfit uses /outfit 0.
Two Situations have been added: Weather and Time of Day.
The Sets and Custom Sets section now have a more detailed tooltip that shows the collection status of the set and its appearances.
When there is an outfit discount in effect, the cost is now green with a tooltip showing the source of the discount.
Added a glow to the "Save Outfit" button when there are pending changes.
Fixed an issue where certain items with special visual effects, such as Forest Lord's Antlers, would be displayed incorrectly when applied as a transmogrification.
Weapon Sheathing Options
New options for sheathing weapons have been added to transmogrification, allowing players to choose whether their weapons sheath at the hip, on their backs, or are hidden entirely! At the top of the window, you can also see a new option to sheathe your weapon in the Preview Pane.
Select your sheathing location in Patch 12.0.5!
Unfortunately, these options do not fully extend to two-handed weapons, as they only have the option to be sheathed on back or hidden.
Two-handed weapons do not get the option to sheath on the side the way one-handed weapons do.
Interestingly though, dual wielders can choose sheathing locations for each weapon independently, allowing one weapon to be on the side and the other to be on the back, or either hidden entirely.
Set sheath options independently for each hand.
For casters, the option is available to sheathe both your main-hand and off-hand on either your back or side, but off-hands on PTR have some odd and unexpected results when sheathed on your back.
Caster with off-hand sheathed on the back, but appears on shoulder.
It's unclear whether the issues with caster off-hands are intended or whether they'll go live with the patch, but we'll be sure to update if this changes.
New Situations: Weather & Time of Day
Whether you're enjoying an Azerothian sunset, a sandstorm in Tanaris, or a monsoon in Nazjatar, new situations have been added so your outfit is up to code and prepared for all occasions. Under the Situations tab of the Transmog menu, you'll see two new categories of situations available.

Each Situation has 4 options available. For Time of Day, you can set the outfit option for morning, midday, evening, and night. For Weather, you can set for clear, rain, snow, or sandstorm.

Outfit Macros & Detailed Set Tooltips
With Patch 12.0.5, you'll now be able to change outfits with simple macros. Simply use the following command replacing X with the order number of the outfit you're looking to equip:
/outfit X
Additionally, sets and custom sets now have much more detailed tooltip breakdowns of the items associated with a particular outfit.

There's a few other smaller quality of life changes listed, but overall these new options should provide more variety and cool fashion setups.
Are you excited for the customizable sheathing or personalizing your outfit to the Weather and Time of Day? Plan to avoid the rain with your favorite parasol or soak up some extra sun in your fanciest chainkini?
