Patch 12.0.7 Overview
Awaken Fungi
The main mechanic of this boss fight is Awaken Fungi, where Rotmire spawns a growth of different fungal minions. On Mythic, three different types of minions spawn:
Shroomling - Fixates a random player.
Fungling - Fixates a random player.
Sporecap - A stationary mushroom that occassionally casts Poison Burst that needs to be interrupted.
Anytime a minion dies, it leaves behind a corpse. Players fixated by Shroomlings will want to keep far away from players fixated by Funglings and vice versa. If a Shroomling and Fungling die close enough to one another, Cross Fertilization occurs and a Bursting Doom Shroom spawns, exploding for lethal amounts of damage that wipes the raid.
Players will want to defeat the minions as quickly as possible for a mechanic later in the fight.
Fungal Bloom
At 100 Energy, Rotmire casts Fungal Bloom, turning all minion corpses into Bursting Shrooms that need to be defeated before their cast finishes.
If any minions are still alive after Fungal Bloom goes off, they are buffed with Fungal Frenzy, which increases their damage by 100%, movement speed by 50%, and grants them CC immunity. In other words, all minions must be defeated before Fungal Bloom goes off.
Overall, the fight puts a lot of emphasis on positioning fungal minions in the correct spots based on where the stationary Sporecap spawns. This fight looks to have a strong emphasis on AoE damage, so bring your cleave talents!
Sporefall will be the first raid to introduce Mythic Flex, allowing a group between 15-25 players to try this fight on Mythic difficulty instead of the standard 20-man raid size. Looking to push beyond Heroic and start earning experience in Mythic Raiding? Sporefall will be the perfect trial for you!
What are your thoughts on the Sporefall raid fight? Will your guild attempt this fight on Mythic?
