Badge of the Swarmguard
The Badge of the Swarmguard is perhaps inside the top three of the most important items on this list. In The Burning Crusade, there are three notable armor debuffs, including Curse of Recklessness from a Warlock (800), Improved Expose Armor from a Rogue (3,075), and Faerie Fire (610).
TBC Warrior Pre-Raid BiSTBC Rogue Pre-Raid BiS
Badge of the Swarmguard can stack to bring an additional 1,200. Combined, those abilities and the Badge of the Swarmguard can remove 5,685 armor from a boss, which is a significant amount.
Badge of the Swarmguard has some niche uses for Rogues, such as short fights within its 30-second window and trash mobs. That said, for Warriors, it's a pre-raid BiS option and is a viable option through all of Phase 1 until you get Dragonspine Trophy. Hunters can also make use of it.
Styleen's Impeding Scarab
Finding sources of mitigation to reach the 490 defense cap or 102.4% avoidance for crush cap can be trying during the early stages of TBC Classic, and Styleen's helps bridge that gap.
TBC Prot Paladin Pre-Patch BiSTBC Prot Paladin Pre-Raid BiS
This is a fantastic pre-raid BiS option for Protection Paladins and a viable, but should-replace-it-soon, option through Phase 1.
Nerubian Slavemaker
Finding great ranged weapons can be difficult, as they could be locked behind reputation grinds or hoping for drops in Heroics. If you're able to obtain the Nerubian Slavemaker, it helps bridge the gap and can be used in your first Karazhan runs.
TBC Hunter Pre-Raid BiSKel'Thuzad Strategy Guide
This is best served for Hunters. The other viable pre-raid BiS options are Wrathtide Longbow and Veteran's Musket / Marksman's Bow. The former comes from Heroic Steamvault, while the latter two are reputation rewards from Honor Hold / Thrallmar.
Totem of the Storm
This is an open-world drop in Classic, so you can purchase it from the Auction House. There are very few totems at the start of TBC and in Classic that help bolster your damage like Totem of the Storm does.
TBC Elemental Shaman Pre-Raid BiSTBC Elemental Shaman Pre-Patch BiS
This is your best option as an Elemental Shaman until you get Totem of the Void from The Botanica.
Wolfshead Helm
Power-shifting is still very much a thing in TBC Classic, and Wolfshead Helm provides you with a quick 20 energy or 5 rage.
TBC Feral Cat Pre-Raid BiSTBC Feral Cat Phase 3 BiS
This will be used by Feral Cat DPS Druids all the way until you get Cursed Vision of Sargeras out of Black Temple, assuming you are optimizing your power-shifting.
Mind Quickening Gem
This Mage-only trinket adds a significant amount of Haste rating, which can provide a massive boost to your damage. This can be replaced with items like Scryer's Bloodgem and Icon of the Silver Crescent, but the faster the fight, the more valuable this trinket becomes.
TBC Mage Pre-Raid BiSTBC Mage Pre-Patch BiS
All Mage specializations use this.
The Black Book
The Warlock-only trinket will be sought after as it'll increase the damage dealt by your pets, including your Felguard, for 30 seconds. This will help deal more damage in dungeon groups, while solo leveling, and is viable as a pre-raid BiS option if you want to raid as Demonology.
TBC Demo Warlock Pre-Raid BiSPhase 1 DPS Tier List
You'll want to be Demonology to make the most of this.
Fetish of the Sand Reaver
For high damage-dealing classes that generate ample amounts of threat, Fetish could be the difference between life and death, as it severely reduces the threat you generate.
Fankriss the Unyielding Boss GuideTBC Destro Lock Pre-Raid BiS
This is viable for many classes, headlined by Warlocks.
Petrified Scarab
There aren't many trinket options that offer high resistance. Petrified Scarab grants 100 for one minute. This can be used during Hydross the Unstable in Serpentshrine Cavern, Mother Shahraz in Black Temple, and Illidan Stormrage in Black Temple.
Hydross the Unstable Boss GuideIllidan Stormrage Boss Guide
This is recommended for any tank, especially Feral Bear.
Ring of the Fallen God
Early on in TBC, it's hard to find rings with both spell power and hit rating, and Ring of the Fallen God offers both.
TBC Shadow Priest Phase 1 BiSTBC Mage Pre-Raid BiS
This is Phase 1 BiS for Shadow Priests, and also a great pre-raid option for all Mage specializations.
The Phylactery of Kel'Thuzad
If you're facing a Demon or Undead boss or trash, there's no better trinket to use for most of TBC than what you get from turning in The Phylactery of Kel'Thuzad. For melee users, the trinket gives 150 Attack Power, and the caster option provides 85 spell damage to Undead and Demons.
Karazhan OverviewMagtheridon's Lair Overview
It can be used on the following bosses in Phase 1:
Karazhan: Terestian Illhoof, Prince Malchezaar, Attumen the Huntsman, Moroes, Shade of Aran, Romulo/Julianne (Opera Event), and Nightbane
Gruul's Lair: No use in this raid
Magtheridon's Lair: Magtheridon
If you're a DPS class, it's strongly recommended that you get ahold of this trinket. Guilds should consider running Naxx in Phase 1 to acquire more of these.
Polar Gear Set
Like Petrified Scarab, finding items with resistance on them can be a trying task, but the Polar set from Classic can make life a lot easier on Hydross the Unstable.
Serpentshrine Cavern OverviewTBC Feral Bear Overview
This is a great set for a Feral Bear to acquire leading up to the encounter.
Scarab Brooch
The only downside to the Scarab Brooch is that it has a three-minute cooldown. Thus, it's a great trinket to use and swap in and out of as a healer to protect your raid members that much more.
TBC Priest Healer Pre-Raid BiSTBC Resto Shaman Pre-Raid BiS
We highly recommend that Restoration Shamans and Circle of Healing Priests acquire this, as it'll have use throughout most of TBC.
Eye of the Dead
This is a viable healing trinket until you can get the best options from TBC, as it increases healing by a large amount (70) and also has an on-use that'll provide five massive heals. Another option similar to this is Rejuvenating Gem out of Blackwing Lair.
TBC Holy Paladin Pre-Raid BiSTBC Resto Druid Pre-Raid BiS
This is a great pre-raid option for any healer.
Neltharion's Tear
This trinket offers both hit rating and spell power. Like Ring of the Fallen God, that's a fairly rare combination to find until you get the better options from dungeons and Badges of Justice.
TBC Mage OverviewTBC Warlock Overview
This is great for any caster DPS, including Mages and Warlocks.
Kiss of the Spider
Not only does this trinket offer Critical Strike Rating and Hit Rating, but it also has an on-use effect that increases haste by 200 for 15 seconds. This will be replaced by items such as Abacus of Violent Odds and Bloodlust Brooch, but until then, this is the strongest trinket available. Another classic trinket option that provides Hit Rating is Drake Fang Talisman.
TBC Rogue OverviewRogue Consumables Guide
This is excellent for Rogues with Slice and Dice and Blade Flurry, but is also decent for Warriors, too.
Slayer's Crest
This trinket is essentially the "baby" version of Bloodlust Brooch.
Badges of Justice OverviewTBC DPS Warrior Phase 1 BiS
This can be used by any melee DPS or Hunter. Once you get Bloodlust Brooch, it can still be used to swap between trash mobs to keep the on-use effects up.
Band of Unnatural Forces
This is a powerful ring that provides Critical Strike Rating, Hit Rating, and Attack Power. This is an uncommon combination of stats to find on a ring.
TBC DPS Warrior OverviewTBC DPS Warrior Consumables Guide
This is a Warriors pre-raid BiS ring.
Loatheb's Reflection
Like Petrified Scarab, Loatheb's Reflection also offers passive resistances, including +13 Frost and Nature. Additionally, it has an on-use effect that adds 40 to all schools of magic. If you're in a guild where Hydross will last multiple phases, this is a trinket worth using.
TBC Prot Paladin OverviewTBC Prot Warrior Overview
This is viable for all tanks on certain encounters, such as Hydross.
Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian
This might be a bit of a "pie in the sky" item. Still, if you can somehow finish up your Atiesh during pre-patch or if your guild is willing to keep running Naxxramas each week for items like Phylactery, you can collect shards passively. Atiesh is a powerful weapon for some classes, especially thanks to its unique equip ability, depending on your class.
Atiesh GuideTBC Warlock Phase 2 BiS
This is the BiS staff for Warlocks in TBC until you get Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer, which drops from Illidan in Black Temple.
