M3ddy will wait for any current combat to end before resurrecting.
Similar to S.A.V.I.O.R. in Dragonflight and the Irresistible Red Button from The War Within, M3DDY can be summoned to trigger a mass resurrection, reviving all players once the current combat ends. Unlike previously models, however, the new consumable was recently nerfed and cannot be used inside any instanced content, including delves, dungeons, and raids. It's not exactly clear why this is the case, as it would seem to be the primary use for such recovery, but these limitations make it functionally useless for the vast majority of content.
Hopefully, this is unintentional and functionality will be restored in a future bug fix.
This absolutely critical issue aside, M3DDY could be quite useful. Unlike previous versions, it can be used by non-engineers, it can be used during combat to trigger a resurrection after death, or used after combat by survivors to bring back their allies, with seemingly zero failure rate. This ease of use would make it quite useful as wipe recovery for pulls gone wrong or even as a death skip in dungeons. Best of all, it's extremely cheap to make and has only a 5-minute cooldown that is not shared by other consumables. All of that is undermined by the fact that it can't be used in any practically any of the group content that would warrant such capability, though it's also easy to believe that perhaps all this functionality was a little too strong for its own good.
Maybe it really is too good to be true?
