Best Way to Level Alts Fast in Midnight

Leveling your alts in Midnight can take a while, but players have found an optimized strategy for leveling up to 90 in about 4 to 5 hours!

Silvermoon Hub & Zones Guide

How to Quickly Level Alts in Midnight

While every person does a slightly different route or has a different plan, the general idea is about the same:

Benefit from increased power at lower levels - As you level up, you tend to get weaker and things take longer to kill and become more deadly. The less killing you do at max level, the better.

Delver's Call quests give a huge experience bonus - Delver's Call quests can give over 100k experience per turn in.

Avoid the Campaign where possible - The Midnight campaign seems to be less efficient for experience than other expansions and the dungeon quests are slow.

Thus, the plan will look something like this:

Quickly clear all Delves on Tier 1 when you're the most powerful, picking up the Delver's Call bounty at the start of each Delve.

Quest until around the end of Level 87 or Level 88

Turn in Delver's Call to hit Level 89

Use First Time Profession Bonuses to hit Level 90

Don't forget to get your Darkmoon Faire WHEE! and Darkmoon Top Hat for the experience gains!

Optional Step 0: Siren Isle / Cinderbrew Bees

If your character is geared from The War Within, many players have suggested to grind Elites in the War Within until level 81. These give great mob experience and since you're the most powerful at level 80, you can quickly AoE these elites down for some very high experience per hour.

Step 1: Clear All Delves

The most important part of this route is the need to clear all delves and do NOT turn in the Delver's Call quest until later on. You want to complete the Delve when you are more powerful, and save the quest turn-ins for when you are the least powerful. There is no need to do any Delve about Tier 1 if you are focused on efficient leveling.

There are currently 8 Delves, 2 in each zone and each Delver's Call can be picked up inside the respective Delve:

Delver's Call: Shadow Enclave - Eversong Woods

Delver's Call: Collegiate Calamity- Eversong Woods (Silvermoon)

Delver's Call: Atal'Aman - Zul'Aman

Delver's Call: Twilight Crypts - Zul'Aman

Delver's Call: The Gulf of Memory - Harandar

Delver's Call: The Grudge Pit - Harandar

Delver's Call: Shadowguard Point - Voidstorm

Delver's Call: Sunkiller Sanctum- Voidstorm

For people that have a set route for Step 2, you may choose to do the delves when you're passing by them to save flight time.

Step 2: Quest until Level 87 - 88

This is the step that everyone does slightly differently as it's rather open to interpretation. The goal here is to get to level 87 to 88 as quickly as possible and most people do this by questing. The most common routes seem to be:

Do the main quest and lots of side quests in Eversong Woods as they are clumped well and easy to complete.

Do the main quest and some side quests in Zul'Aman.

Fill with any remaining quests you need.

Eversong Woods is a very good source of experience which is why most people tend to complete a lot of quests in this zone. Most people avoid Voidstorm.

There is one other efficient way to level here, but it's only available every 3 days -- the Shadowguard Point Delve one pull strategy. Due to the nature of this Delve, you can do one mass pull and AoE it down for some insane experience, reset the Delve and then do it all over again. This is another great way to get to the required level if the story is available.

Step 3: Turn in Delver's Call

It's time to Turn on War Mode and turn in all 8 Delver's Call quests. You'll want to fly to each zone to benefit from the 15% War Mode bonus.

Completing all 8 quests should put you well into Level 89.

Step 4: First Time Profession Crafting

Similar to War Within, you can use First Time Profession Crafting bonuses to complete the last little bit of your leveling journey. You can get around 75% of a level from this, and the experience does scale with War Mode (outside of towns) and other experience bonuses, if you can find a way to craft in a more remote location. While it's nice, it's not necessarily needed.

If you plan to level your professions on this alt, go ahead and just use the professions that you want to level and just craft everyone once like you normally would. If you don't plan on using these professions, most people have recommended Tailoring as one of the cheapest professions, though any crafting profession (non-gathering) can suffice.

The community has put some great work into optimizing these routes, and there might even be more optimizations in the future. But this brings your first playthrough of 8+ hours of doing the main campaign, down to 4-5 for alts which is a pretty big optimization.
