Everything To Do Once You Hit Level 70 in The Burning Crusade Anniversary

While this is the third iteration of The Burning Crusade, many players may still be crossing through the Dark Portal and hitting Level 70 for the first time, or there may be players who missed the 2021 release and have foggy memories of the 2007 original.

TBC Classic Phase 1 Overview

Either way, hitting max level in The Burning Crusade comes with a fairly sizable list of tasks to complete. Below, we'll discuss what you should focus on after hitting level 70!

Farm Reputation

Farming reputation is arguably the most important pillar for The Burning Crusade as a whole. Thankfully, you can accomplish a lot of it while levelling, whether you decide to quest or dungeon grind primarily.

The Burning Crusade Faction Reputation Overview

Either way, pushing these reputations to Revered to unlock the Heroic Dungeon keys and your Helmet enchant is the priority, followed by pushing whatever reputations you need to Exalted for specific pieces of gear. For example, the Crest of the Sha'tar from being Exalted with The Sha'tar for a Paladin or Warrior tank, or Gavel of Pure Light from the same faction for a healer.

The main reputations to farm in The Burning Crusade include The Sha'tar, Cenarion Expedition, Keepers of Time, Lower City, The Aldor/The Scryers, and Honor Hold/Thrallmar. Some other reputations to consider include The Consortium, Sporeggar, Kurenai, and, in future phases, The Violet Eye, Netherwing, Ogri'la, and Sha'tari Skyguard. Be sure to check out our reputation guides for a more in-depth look at ways to acquire reputation, including dungeons and quests.

Farm Honor and Prepare PvP Gear

PvP Season 1 starts on February 17th, and you can begin working toward the honor cap (75,000) and farming the marks from each battleground that you need. This will help expedite preparation for Arena's Season 1 Gladiator gear.

Alternatively, when you reach Honored with Cenarion Expedition, Keepers of Time, Lower City, Honor Hold/Thrallmar, and The Sha'Tar, each faction sells PvP gear that has the same stats as the Grand Marshal/High Warlord gear you can purchase with honor. Thus, if you get your reputation with those factions up now and buy that gear, you can use your Honor Points on items to fill Back and Weapon slots.

Level Professions

Assuming you went into The Burning Crusade with a skill level of 300, you'll have 75 more levels to go to max out your professions, including your secondary ones, such as Fishing and Cooking. While it may only be 75 levels, it may take some time to level them up unless you have ample gold to spend.

Best Professions for Each Class Specialization

Leveling these is vital, whether it's for the latest bombs and sappers from Engineering, cloth cooldowns for Tailoring, or even the almighty Dragonmaw as a Master Hammersmith Blacksmith. Professions play a strong role in The Burning Crusade and can exponentially improve your character's performance.

Acquire a Flying Mount

After you hit Level 70, head on over to Shadowmoon Valley and acquire your flying mount, whether you've got mounds of gold put away for Epic Flying or are pinching pennies for the 60% version, a flying mount is a necessity in The Burning Crusade and is indirectly a requirement to complete the Karazhan attunement.

Here's the cost of a flying mount:

Mount QualitySkill RequiredRiding Skill CostMount Cost

Epic (280% speed)Artisan Riding

Dungeon and Raid Attunements

Speaking of attunements, one of the key elements of The Burning Crusade is the number of attunements players need to complete. Thankfully, in The Burning Crusade Anniversary, these now become account-wide, including access to heroic dungeons, so long as you purchase the Communal Pouch from each faction's quartermaster.

The Burning Crusade Attunement Guide

As for raid attunements, Karazhan is the main one to complete before raids open. It's a multi-step process that'll include entering dungeons such as Shadow Labyrinth, The Arcatraz, The Steamvault, and The Black Morass.

From there, to start working ahead, you can begin the attunements for Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye. That said, you won't be able to fully complete them until after Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair open on February 19th. We highly recommend checking out our attunement guides and also downloading the Attune addon.

Dungeon Farming

It's simple, but farming dungeons will not only earn you the reputation you need, but will also help you start working on your Pre-Raid BiS gear.

The Burning Crusade Dungeons Overview

Phase 1 of TBC Classic Anniversary will be in a post-nerf state, which will help in clearing raids, but also keep in mind that Blizzard recently issued a hotfix to change the armor value of enemies, thus decreasing the damage done by physical damage dealers.

On top of gear and reputation, you'll also earn a new currency, Badge of Justice, which can be used to buy other pieces of gear or even Primal Nethers, which are BoP, and can be used to craft gear you may need, such as Dragonmaw. Be sure to explore our Pre-Raid BiS guides to see what gear you need and which dungeons to farm.

Daily Quests

Right now, there are fewer daily quests than there will be in later phases, but the most important ones to complete right now are the Heroic and Normal Dungeon dailies.

Daily Quests in The Burning Crusade Anniversary

With the Heroic Dungeon daily, you'll earn reputation and two Badges of Justice, whereas with the Normal Dungeon daily, you'll earn reputation and an Ethereum Prison Key, which can be used in Netherstorm to either unlock a hostile enemy to defeat for a Green/Blue quality item or a friendly NPC, which will grant reputation with the faction its associated with.

Get Gear Enchanted and Gemmed

As we approach the release of raid content on February 19th, it's important to get your gear enchanted and gemmed to maximize your performance heading into Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, and Magtheridon's Lair.

Prepare Alts

Yes, we know, one of the last things you'll want to do just after grinding your way up to Level 70 is jump right back into the grind on another toon, but whenever you're ready, this will provide another avenue of fun considering all of the account-wide changes Blizzard has made to attunements.

Burning Crusade Classic Leveling Guide

Keep in mind, though, that the reputations aren't account-wide. So, if you have a Level 70 and you're Exalted with Cenarion Expedition, you won't be able to level a fresh Feral Druid to 70 and immediately purchase Earthwarden; you'll still need to farm that reputation, but you can instead immediately enter whatever Heroic Dungeons you have the Communal key for.
