Throne of Thunder Raid Achievements Guide
While some of these achievements are simple to obtain, most will require your raid to approach encounters in unexpected ways. On top of that, you'll also need to defeat the bosses on Heroic mode, which adds an additional layer of challenge. While it is certainly possible to complete the encounter achievements while simultaneously defeating the bosses on Heroic, it is probably best to do the individual fight achievements on Normal mode and try the harder encounters later on.
How to Earn the Encounter Achievements
Lightning Overload: As the description says, cause two Focused Lightning Orbs to collide. The hardest part is kiting around the first orb until the second spawns. Try to bring an Agility class with good mobility (Rogue, Monk, etc.) to make this easier.
Cretaceous Collector: Bring a third Tank to manage the various Zandalari Dinomancers that appear, and assign DPS handle interrupts on them. By the end of the fight, your third tank will likely require some cooldowns to survive; the raid should burn the boss quickly.
Cage Match: Make sure the entire raid stays inside the circle at all times. Easy peasy.
One-Up: The easiest (albeit a bit RNG) way to get this one is to leave two to three shells available, let the boss reach 20%, wait for a few spawns, and then kick a shell when the boss gets very low on health. Good luck!
Head Case: This one will take a few weeks. Just ignore a different head every week, and on your third kill, you'll get it.
Soft Hands: Grab the egg that spawns about 15 seconds into the fight from the fourth nest. Have your egg carrier drop down to the first nest and stay there for the duration of the fight. Easier said than done.
You Said Crossing the Streams Was Bad: Do your best Ghostbusters impression and cross the streams to reveal the Orange Fog Beast, Purple Fog Beast, and Green Fog Beast. Which beam combination reveals that each addition will be left as an exercise to the reader.
Genetically Unmodified Organism: Don't let any raid member collect any harmful mutations and burn the boss down. Simple, but requires high raid DPS.
Ritualist Who?: Defeat all ritualists in the Dark Animus' room. This one is RNG-based, but if your raid is patient, you reset the instance a few times in a week to try and get more of the list completed.
Can't Touch This: Much as the name implies, stay out of the proverbial fires, and you'll earn it. Again, easier said than done.
From Dusk 'til Dawn: This one requires you to defeat Lu'lin before allowing Suen to drop below 30%. Get it done before stacks get too high, so make sure your healing and raid damage are up to par.
A Complete Circuit: Last but certainly not least, Lei Shen's achievement will require up to four weeks, as it demands you overload a different pillar each time. Overloading different pillars brings different challenges, but nothing a capable raid can't handle.
In addition, you must also defeat every boss on Heroic mode (each kill awards its own achievement, for example Heroic: Jin'rokh the Breaker). After completing them all, you'll earn the Glory of the Thundering Raider meta-achievement and unlock your very own Reins of the Armored Skyscreamer.
