Should You Buy Your Epic Riding Now, or Wait Until TBC Pre-Patch?

Many changes are coming with The Burning Crusade Pre-Patch, and a common question is about the cost of ground mounts during this period and whether it makes more sense to buy now or wait.

Ground Mount Changes in TBC Pre-Patch

Right now, to obtain your first mount in Classic, you must be Level 40. Before reputation discounts, this mount, which is 60% speed, costs total. Then, at Level 60, the 100% speed mount is . During the TBC Pre-Patch, you can get the 60% mount 10 levels earlier (Level 30), and the total cost is reduced to . As for the 100% mount at Level 60, the cost is reduced from to . The key difference, though, is that this now requires its own training, whereas it didn't before.
