Beast Mastery Hunter Writer Comment

Here is our Beast Mastery Hunter writer, Tarlo, commenting on the above changes and why Beast Mastery Hunter is getting such a big buff.

TarloBefore last week's tuning buffs were announced, there was a SimC bugfix which increased the estimated Dark Ranger damage in single-target by ~6% (which by itself would not have been enough to overtake Pack Leader). The buffs in the hotfix coming tomorrow have buffed Dark Ranger by 18% in single-target. This has moved Dark Ranger from a bit behind to significantly ahead of Pack Leader in single-target. The newest Dark Ranger is about 11.5% ahead of the strongest current Pack Leader build in single-target and 6.5% ahead of the strongest Pack Leader build while accounting for the baseline Beast Mastery buff.

This also brings Beast Mastery a strong 1-minute burst damage profile which fits this particular raid very well. All in all, Dark Ranger will now be the default choice for most raid encounters, if not all.

Most Beast Mastery Hunters will want to re-asses their stat priorities and their trinket choices due to these changes. You will most likely want to drop some of your Mastery for some Versatility. We are also likely an excellent Power Infusion-target now. Bloody Frenzy is also once again an option for easy cleave in several raid encounters. The guide will be updated with reset.

For M+, this is a straightforward 5% buff to the spec, and we stick to Pack Leader. The No-Multi-Shot build benefits especially from this.
