After 310 pulls, Team Liquid has defeated the Coiled Altar on Mythic difficulty, paving the way to Ula'tek and the Race to World First finale!

Surviving more than 300 pulls over several days of progression, the Coiled Altar has been a grueling penultimate encounter reminiscent of Mug'zee in the Liberation of Undermine and Tindral of Amirdrassil: a brick wall holding all top ten race competitors at the same position. While the first nerf significantly reduced the Phase 2 DPS check, the second nerf was quickly reverted, keeping players in a long slog against an inordinately difficult boss that required vantus runes, near perfect play, and even a little luck to overcome the encounter RNG. Although not the hardest in terms of raw pulls, the Coiled Altar now holds a distinction as the most difficult second-to-last boss in terms of total progression time.

Group Composition

2 Tanks: Guardian Druid, Protection Paladin

5 Healers: 2 Preservation Evokers, 2 Discipline Priests, Restoration Shaman

4 Melee: Havoc Demon Hunter, Windwalker Monk, Subtlety Rogue, Arms Warrior

9 Ranged: Balance Druid, Augmentation Evoker, 2 Marksmanship Hunters, 2 Arcane Mages, Shadow Priest, 2 Affliction Warlocks

Just one boss left to claim the crown!
