What Are Void Strikes?
Each Void Strike provides players with just under 14,000 experience points. On average, completing 5 Void Strikes for the Void Assaults: Zul'Aman or Void Assaults: Eversong Woods Weekly quest can take around 30 minutes. At level 81, this 30-minute outdoor adventure only provides about ~50% of a level, and that's including Rested Experience earned from defeating enemies.
In a world where players are spending all of their Rested experience and turning in this quest every week, it would take nearly 20 hours of time /played to level a character from 80 to 90 through Void Strikes. Meanwhile, players have figured out ways to reach max level on a fresh character much faster. For example, there was recently a player who leveled from 10 to 90 just by exploring Azeroth. This player reached level 90 in under 3 hours /played.
While this example may be an outlier, it does show how bad Void Strikes are for leveling purposes, by comparison. These events could have been a great way for players to level alts ahead of Patch 12.0.7. But with the return of Turbulent Timeways and additional experience buffs coming in Revelations, it looks like players will have to wait until the next patch to efficiently level new characters.
QUESTS
Significantly increased the amount of experience earned from completing the following types of Midnight quests: 1st time delves (Delver’s Call), Midnight dungeon quests, Prey, and weekly Renown activities.
