For anyone wondering about Single-Minded Fury (the ability to use 1-hand weapons) going away for Fury Warriors, please stay tuned for future updates!
We have plans in the works that didn’t make it in time for the initial Alpha test. We’ll provide more info with a forthcoming test build.
Spoilers Ahead
Although not spoiled outright in the post, early Alpha testing revealed a new passive ability called Single-Minded Fury in the Warrior spellbook, which allowed Fury Warriors the exclusive ability to transmog two-handed weapons with the visual appearance of one-handed weapons!
The ability later inexplicably disappeared from the spellbook, likely due to not yet actually working in-game yet.
Although tagged Not Yet Implemented, this would correct a long-running issue with Fury Warriors in which both one and two-handed weapons can be collected but not used together, which often results in looting incompatible weapon upgrades that can't be used together (since both must be used as a pair, resulting in needing four weapons!). Experienced players avoid this by setting their loot spec to Arms, but the war between those who enjoy the fantasy of dual wielding two-handed weapons vs those who prefer the aesthetics of one-handers has raged since the Titan's Grip talent was first introduced in The Wrath of the Lich King.
The Legion artifact, Warswords of the Valarjar, pared this down to only allowing two-handed weapons to be used, but a Single-Minded Fury passive was re-added in Dragonflight in order to help give one-handed aficionados a leg up to better compete with their two-handed ones. Unfortunately, the balance has never really been able to get there, with two-handers continually surpassing their smaller counterparts. A transmog option is the perfect solution, putting everyone on an even playing field and simplifying weapon acquisition, while still allowing each player to use their preferred visual customization.
