During their Season 4 Campfire Chat livestream, Blizzard showcased a new crafting system coming with Diablo 4's Season 4.

Tempering will be a new crafting system coming to Diablo 4 with the release of Season 4. Together with the new Masterworking crafting system, Tempering will replace the current "Upgrade" crafting system and offer new ways to further improve items in Diablo 4.
