Shadow Priest Dealing Huge Damage Due to Voidweaver & Mindblast Bug in Patch 12.0.5

With the release of Patch 12.0.5, some classes have been intentionally buffed, such as Devourer Demon Hunter. In contrast, other classes have had frustrating bugs, including unintentional nerfs to specs like Unholy Death Knights. Meanwhile, Shadow Priests have received an unexpected buff, thanks to the return of an old bug.

A Message Regarding Patch 12.0.5

In Patch 12.0.1, Shadow Priests claimed a respectable 7th place in terms of Boss Damage in the 95th Precentile of Logs. This ranking changed drastically, as the spec shot up all the way to the #1 spot in patch 12.0.5, likely due to this bug.

Currently, the Voidweaver variant of Shadow is benefitting from the Overwhelming Shadows node of the Discipline tree. This is causing both Void Blast and Mind Blast to deal excessively more damage than intended.

Voidweaver is currently getting the disc "100% Mind Blast" from the `Overwhelming Shadows` node.

We expect this to be fixed soon and have not re-implemented the bug into sims but you should definitely play Voidweaver in all content until it is fixed.

We also will not be updating any builds or tailoring anything specifically for this since it will likely be fixed.
Likely some variation of taking Mastermind 2 + Insidious Ire 2 + Shattered Psyche. Just vibe.
