As typical, players can pursue a guaranteed Tier Set Catalyst Charge in Season 1 by completing Midnight Season 1: Champion of the Dawn requiring a milestone from either Mythic+, Raid, or PvP. Despite one of the criteria listed as Heroic Dimensius, datamining currently points to a Heroic or Mythic Midnight Falls kill as the real criteria.
Due to the delayed raid release schedule, Heroic March on Quel'Danas will not be available until March 31st impeding that avenue for achievement completion and the Catalyst Charge. For PvE players looking to optimize their gearing strategy in Midnight, prioritizing 2000+ Mythic+ rating may be key as that content is available a full week earlier on March 24th.
For the brave, you can venture into Rated PvP for 1600+ rating for the absolute earliest reward on March 17th though rating gains can be slower early in a season.
Why It Matters & How to Mitigate?
Acquiring your Tier Set and the accompanying power boost from the set bonus will be slightly more difficult in Midnight Season 1. While all 5 tier tokens will be available with the initial raid release of Voidspire and Dreamrift raids on March 17th, the Tier Omni-Token Curio drops only from the final encounter of the March on Quel'Danas raid.
Combine this with the new Tier Set token groups based on armor type and you might find tier particularly scarce depending on your guild's composition and drops.
Having multiple gearing options available early will be critical in mitigating Tier Set acquisition issues.
