Now Fixed: Pinterest Promotion Temporarily Disabled to Fix Account Suspensions

After the newest World of Warcraft promotion went live, players quickly noticed their Pinterest accounts were being suspended due to "some activity that appears to violate our policies against spam." The Pinterest crossover features a new Pin-o-Matic camera and social integrations for the photo-sharing platform.

As of this afternoon, Blizzard has re-enabled Pinterest photo-sharing and all suspended accounts have been restored.

Update 2:00 p.m. PST February 23
The Pinterest photo‑sharing feature has been enabled again for all players, following confirmation from Pinterest that they have fixed the issue and restored all suspended accounts.

As a part of the fix, all previously linked Pinterest accounts were disconnected. Players who already linked accounts will need to re‑link their Pinterest account before posting photos again.

Thank you for your patience!

Blizzard has now jumped in to resolve the issue, disabling the Pin-o-Matic camera and preventing uploads directly to Pinterest until the issue is resolved on their end.

We’re aware of this issue and we’ve reached out to Pinterest.

Until it is solved, we’ve disabled the function.

We’ll keep an eye on it and get it turned back on as soon as it’s safe to do so.
