Valley of the Four Winds Treasures, Mounts, and Rares Guide
Battle Horn
Battle Horn dropped by Blackhoof
One of the most sought-after toys in Mists of Pandaria, the Battle Horn aggros all mobs within a 40-yard range, including neutral mobs.
This is extremely useful in all sorts of content, but is particularly desirable in certain sections of Challenge Mode Dungeons such as Ook-Ook's room in Stormstout Brewery and Rattlegore's room in Scholomance.
Magic Banana
Magic Banana dropped by Bonobos
Places a banana on the floor, which will slip up the first player (friend or foe) who walks over it, immobilising them briefly.
Unfortunately, the seemingly excessive 2-hour cooldown makes this slightly less appealing; however, with a shorter cooldown, excessive use would probably cause some groups to split, so maybe Blizzard had the right idea!
Terracotta Fragment
Terracotta Fragment dropped by Jonn-Dar
This is a trinket with a hefty 1-hour cooldown that summons a Terracotta Warrior for 10 minutes. The Warrior uses Mocking Blow very frequently, taunting his target for 6 seconds, and Cleaves for a limited amount of AoE damage.
Surprisingly useful for solo content, such as killing Pandaria rares and running old raids; he casts Mocking Blow so often that his target should always be taunted into attacking him, allowing you to focus entirely on dealing damage.
Dynasty of Steel
Dynasty of Steel dropped by Nal'lak the Ripper
A second trinket that summons a guardian to assist you; in this case, a Whirlwind of Blades which will follow you for 10 minutes. When in combat, the Whirlwind will cast Bladewind, dealing AoE damage to nearby enemies.
This isn't powerful enough to see use in any serious PvE or PvP, but can be useful in some situations, like running old content on a class lacking instant-cast AoE abilities.
Seed of Tranquil Growth
Seed of Tranquil Growth dropped by Nasra Spothide
The final trinket available from rares in Valley of the Four Winds will summon a Tranquil Sprout. This will heal you, and only you, for 10 minutes—or until it dies.
Unfortunately, there's not too much use for this trinket: the heals are not really strong enough to have a real impact on difficult content, and the Sprout's low health means it is pretty likely to die prematurely.
Salyin Battle Banner
Salyin Battle Banner dropped by Salyin Warscout
Using this grants you stealth for 1 second and summons a Salyin Warscout that runs in a straight line, taunting all nearby mobs repeatedly.
There are quite a few interesting uses for this; for example, it can be used to drop combat, allowing you to use items like Shard of Archstone and Eternal Warrior's Sigil, or abilities like Prowl.
Overgrown Lilypad
Overgrown Lilypad dropped by Sele'na
Grants the player an ability based on their specialization. The ability granted is the same as that received from a Druid's Symbiosis ability.
Unfortunately, this item is useless for Druids; they can't even use it, but for all other classes, you can check out what ability you will get from the Lilypad in the guide below!
Druid Symbiosis Guide
Crystal of Insanity
Crystal of Insanity dropped by Sulik'shor
This item is essentially a reusable flask; it's not as powerful as crafted flasks like Flask of the Warm Sun and Flask of Winter's Bite, but for specializations that benefit from multiple primary stats, such as healers who benefit from both Intellect and Spirit, this isn't too far off the effectiveness of their best flask.
This item is ideal for content like battlegrounds and dungeons, where a stat bonus is nice, but you don't want to waste gold on flasks.
Have you been struggling to get any of these to drop? Do you have any interesting uses for them? Let us know in the comments!
