Nymrissa Wavecaller
Nymrissa Wavecaller has been nerfed on all difficulties, with the Frost Orbs being nerfed, especially for low group sizes.
Nymrissa Wavecaller
Frost Orb
DoT effect now only lasts 12 seconds (was 16 seconds)
Damage reduced depending on raid size, with largest nerf at smaller raid sizes:
Damage reduced by up to 33% on Normal and Heroic difficulties
Damage reduced by up to 17% on Mythic difficulty
There may be a nerf to boss or add health, but it is not confirmed at this time.
Even after two sets of Nymrissa Wavecaller nerfs, the encounter is still very difficult on Mythic difficulty. The main strategy for handling the Frost Orbs on Mythic is to have an immunity walk through them. This prevents any player from getting the DoT. Mythic raiding guilds will probably still use this strategy for Mythic, as zero damage is better than any damage, but it is a small nerf for guilds that don't have multiple immunities to soak the Frost Orbs.
Mythic Twin Fangs
Mythic Twin Fangs now requires groups to change their strategy of handling Ravenous Feast if they were using immunities, but also nerfs the main mechanic, Eternal Venom.
Mythic Twin Fangs
Eternal Venom now kills players at 10 stacks (was 9 stacks).
Ravenous Feast now requires that at least 4 players are in each soak.
Mythic raiding guilds used a unique strategy for handling the Ravenous Feast soaks. The ability hits 3 times, and each hit deals split damage depending on the number of players in it. As the ability does Physical damage, the strategy was to have the entire raid soak the first one, and then use Blessing of Protection on a player to solo soak the last two hits. This will no longer work, and now the raid likely needs to split groups as intended, which will increase damage taken.
This change is slightly offset by the Eternal Venom change, which allows 1 more stack before players are instantly killed. This amounts to 20 more stacks on the entire raid if done perfectly, but it likely won't be needed. The increased stacks per player gives more leniency for accidental stack gains, whether that be from swirlies, adds, or riding a wave. For groups that want more boss DPS, it also allows for more leeway to cleave onto the adds in the middle and letting them get a few more casts.
Mythic Coiled Altar
Last reset, there were some hotfixes for Coiled Altar which were pushed and then reverted due to the hotfixes not being pushed correctly across both NA and EU servers. These hotfixes now appear to have been pushed with the Weekly Reset again.
Mythic Coiled Altar
Defilement of the Coiled Altar healing absorb reduced by 20%
Coalesced Venom AoE damage reduced by 15%, and damage variance removed (was 0.05)
Venom Rupture periodic damage reduced by 10%
Retaliatory Malice damage variance removed (was 0.05)
