Keystone Dungeons Journal Entries
Mythic+ has become a staple part of the end-game experience in World of Warcraft. When it comes to learning the moving parts of the Mythic+ system, it can be a lot at once. What affixes are this week? What do the affixes do? What is a Keystone?
To help assist in answering these questions, we have our first look at the new Keystone Dungeons section of the Dungeon Journal. We can see an introduction to Mythic+, as well as see an entire page dedicated to Affixes.
The Affixes page includes essential details, including what Keystone levels introduce Affixes, along with explaining when Xal'atath's Guile replaces Xal'atath's Bargain at Keystone level 12.
With the Help of Lindormi
There are a few pages that specifically showcase Lindormi, the Mythic Keystone vendor that follows us throughout Azeroth. She explains how she's made a book all about Keystones for players to read.
Interestingly enough, one of the pages showcases her the way you would normally see any other dungeon boss. Could this potentially mean she will serve as an interactive tutorial boss for Mythic+? Giving players a live-trial of how Mythic+ dungeons play would help them get a strong feel of what to expect. While we are uncertain right now, what we do know is we will continue to see Lindormi helping us on our Mythic+ adventures.
What Else Can be Added?
Giving a basic introduction to Mythic+ is a huge step in the right direction towards helping the New Player Experience of World of Warcraft. While this first iteration accomplishes a lot, further information can be added to make it even better.
Certain affixes in the current Mythic+ system require the use of certain abilities from your talent trees. Some weeks, players are having to use CC abilities to shatter orbs. Other weeks, we're having to dispel a shield off our character in order to get a buff. Having a page dedicated to listing all the essential abilities for certain affixes would be incredibly helpful to all players, but especially new players.
Knowing what abilities handle certain affixes is a huge key to success in Mythic+!
