Talebound Guide
Last week, we datamined the rewards from the upcoming Talebound mode in Patch 12.1.7. There are a bunch of cosmetic and collection rewards, but there were also Player Power rewards such as Venomstone Cache. Nebulous Voidcache and Crests. One of the most controversial rewards was the Cache of Mythic Treasures, as this was listed as giving Mythic Venomous Abyss loot. Various players had concerns on multiple different fronts:
Some players were concerned that players could get Mythic Raid loot without doing Mythic raid.
Some players were concerned that some players could get Best-in-Slot Myth 9/6 gear from the last two bosses while others would roll bad loot.
Other players were fine with the change as it was the final patch in the season.
This feedback may have been heard, as the Talebound gear caches have had their tooltips updated and indicate that the gear will drop from the Vaults of Atal'Utek, instead of the Venomous Abyss.
Cache of Champion Treasures now rewards Normal loot from the Vaults of Atal'Utek (was the Venomous Abyss)
Cache of Heroic Treasures now rewards Heroic loot from the Vaults of Atal'Utek (was the Venomous Abyss)
Cache of Mythic Treasures now rewards Mythic loot from the Vaults of Atal'Utek (was the Venomous Abyss)
This change removes a lot of the end-game BiS items from the reward pool. Players won't be able to get upset at others for getting some BiS Myth 9/6 items, but many players might not feel a reason to go for the cache anymore with the influx of Myth gear this season due to the gearing changes.
