More Players Can Now Earn the Rank of Gladiator in Mists of Pandaria Classic Season 12

With Mists of Pandaria Classic Season 13 around the corner, we are getting some expected changes, as well as brand-new additions to PvP. This includes confirmation that PvP in Season 12 has been significantly more active than previously expected!

PvP Season 12 Ends December 1st

Changes to Gladiator Eligibility

Before the launch of Mists of Pandaria Classic, there were a few changes announced for PvP, and specifically for the Gladiator title(s). One of the most notable was that Gladiator titles would be available for 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5, but that they would be rewarded based on a flat cutoff, instead of the usual percentage. This system was planned to compensate for a lack of active PvPers.

However, Mists of Pandaria Classic ended up having a surprisingly active PvP community, and as a result, the flat cutoff won't be needed. This means that Gladiator titles will be awarded to the typical 0.5% of PvPers, resulting in somewhere around 10,000 Season 12 Gladiators across both EU and US realms once Season 12 ends on December 1st.

Heads up! Here’s your two weeks notice that MoP Classic PvP Season 12 is coming to an end. In this region, the season will end:

Monday, December 1 at 10:00 p.m. PST

Have a fine fight to the finish!

Additional Information

Because Season 12 had an immense number of players, all of the flat cutoffs (that were announced before the start of Mists of Pandaria Classic) were exceeded in all brackets for this region. Therefore, the original percentages will be used.

Flat cutoffs for the number of R1 and Gladiator titles was intended to be a backup system, should a season have low participation, that would reward players who played at an elite level regardless of the number of participants.

Alt Player-characters
Having multiple alts in the Gladiator range no longer counts towards multiple slots when calculating the cutoff. For example, if you have 4 characters that are all Gladiator in 3v3, you only count as one spot. All of your characters that are above the cutoff range will receive the respective reward.

Additionally, alts will no longer dilute the 0.5%. This means that if one player has 5 characters in Gladiator range, they will all collectively count as one player, allowing more individual players to become Gladiators. Keep in mind, all 5 characters would still receive the rewards.

Season 13 Changes

Starting with Season 13 on December 9th, a few more changes will be in place. These changes are primarily stat increases to keep up with the power creep that is typical as an expansion progresses. There are a handful of changes unique to Mists Classic, however. 5v5 Arena wins will award almost twice as much Conquest as before. This change is to make 5v5 more appealing for reaching the weekly cap.

Season 13

Season 13 starts Tuesday December 9 at 8:00 a.m. PST.

In Season 13, base Resilience will be set to to 64% in 2v2, 65% in 3v3, 66% in 5v5, and 65% in the open world (was 63% in 2v2,64% in 3v3, 65% in 5v5, and 63% in the open world).

This matches the original Mists of Pandaria Season 13 base Resilience for 3v3 and the open world.

Season 13 Battle Fatigue will be set to 45% (was 40%).

This matches the original Mists of Pandaria Season 13 Battle Fatigue.

Maximum PvE item level in Battlegrounds and Arenas is increased to 496 (was 473).

This matches the original Mists of Pandaria Season 13 item level cap for PvE items.

5v5 Arena wins now grant 400 Conquest (was 250) and losing a match now grants 120 Conquest (was 75).

This places RBGs above 5v5 in terms of Conquest points per match (with 750 in a win and 225 per loss), but gives 5v5 some extra appeal.

Glorious Tyranny weapon enchant no longer costs Conquest points.

Having this enchant locked behind a rating requirement and a Conquest Point cost felt excessive. This more accessible version of it makes Glorious Tyranny an enchant requiring rating purely for the Glow like the other rating gated enchants.

New Weapon Enchant formula added to the Honor Points vendors.

Enchant Weapon - Tyranny: Grants 600 PvP Power and reduces the duration of Disarm effects by 50%.

The rating-gated Glorious Tyranny enchant now costs a vellum with Tyranny enchanted on it.

Tyrannical Primal Diamond now costs 2000 Honor Points and is located on the Honor Quartermasters

It no longer requires 27,000 Conquest Points earned in Season 13 to purchase, and no longer costs 1,000 Conquest Points.

Enchant Weapon - Glorious Tyranny will no longer cost Conquest Points. Previously, this cost 1000 Conquest while also requiring 2200 Rating. Additionally, a new enchant, "Tyranny", will be added to Honor vendors. This is effectively identical to Glorious Tyranny, only without the glow and Rating requirements. Tyrannical Primal Diamond has also been moved from a Conquest cost to an Honor cost. This change is likely done in order to balance the playing field, instead of giving players at a higher rating a gear advantage.
