Midnight Serves Up Punny Items in Quel’Thalas

Midnight continues a long-standing tradition for Blizzard, adding a full assortment of punny food and drink to consume after a long day. Put down the Holy Mackerel and your slice of Humble Pie, there's a new pun in town!

Alongside the new food and drink vendor items, there's also an item with flavor text regarding Xal'atath's time as the Knaifu. This could be a sly nod to the community's sentiment about the story of the previous villainess, Sylvanas Windrunner.

All New Punny Vendor Food and Drink
Midnight's vendor treats lean heavily into the Sunwell, Silvermoon, and the lavish party life of the Blood Elves. The most exquisite delicacies can restore your health and mana in 12.0, from Roe to Shots sourced directly from the Sunwell's power; there's something for every palate.

Well-Fed Effects
When stepping into the endgame of Midnight, receiving the Well-Fed effect for some extra stats is a staple, and there are some more puns and fun names of consumables to explore for the daring adventurers.

There is also an alternate version of the Well-Fed buff called Relaxed, perfect for aspiring gatherers, as it grants both Perception and Speed for an Hour!

Boozy Beverages
Alcoholic beverages are found throughout the game, but some of the new drinks from Midnight might have you questioning the tastes of Quel'danas.

The Knaifu Chronicles
Given the parallels between Xal'atath and Sylvanas Windrunner, both with their own friends-to-enemies storylines, the flavor text "Not as badly written as you would have expected" can be traced to the backlash from the community surrounding Sylvanas's story in Shadowlands. Many players expressed criticism of Shadowlands as a whole, and much of it was directed at Sylvanas's deal with the Jailor, her motivations being murky, and a less-than-satisfying attempt at a redemption arc in the final patch.
