Midnight Season 1 Race to World First: Livestreams, Coverage, and News

The Midnight Season 1 Race to World First begins tomorrow, with several guilds hosting events and live streaming their progress to clear all three raids on Mythic difficulty and be the first World Champions of Midnight!

While several well established guilds from around the world will be vying for world rankings, Wowhead is once again partnered with Team Liquid to provide raid graphics and Dressing Room character models for participants and viewers alike! We're still rooting for everyone though, and are excited to track of all the community achievements during this epic race, so we've put together a list of the top guild and community hosted events, coverage, casters, charity fundraisers, and more.

Wowhead Coverage
As usual, we will be providing our own coverage of the race, with frequent articles highlighting first kills, group compositions, hotfixes, strategies, and any surprises along the way. As a part of our coverage, we'll also be consolidating information from across the web, including all the different streaming viewpoints, as well as compositional information from Raider.IO and WarcraftLogs, so be sure to check our recaps each day to see how the race progresses!

All of our Race to World First Coverage will be linked here, including each world first kill, major tuning pass, unexpected hotfixes, daily recaps, and more!

Midnight Season 1
Midnight Season 1 uniquely consists of three separate raids, each with their own separate Hall of Fame. The six boss Hall of Fame: Crown of the Cosmos and single boss Hall of Fame: Chimaerus, the Undreamt God are immediately available, though the final Hall of Fame: Midnight Falls remains inaccessible until the final two-boss raid releases on March 31st. This will, of course, make for a very interesting tier if different guilds happen to win each one.

North American Guilds

Instant Dollars
Coming in rank 6th, 5th, and 7th in The War Within, Instant Dollars is pushing to keep their long-running streak alive as one of the few remaining North American top 10 finishers.

Kads PoVMilli PoV

Honestly
Although falling out of the top 10 in The War Within, the world's foremost Oceanic guild is notable for starting with a strong early push, before switching to a relatively light 20 hour raid schedule. Despite not pushing race progression as hard as other guilds, several raiders will be streaming their individual PoV from down under!

European Guilds

Echo
Coming in second place all throughout The War Within, you can bet that this race is more important than ever for the European frontrunners, so viewers can expect quite a show from the fifteen raiders and seven casters hosting their own Race to World First event live from Cologne, Germany!

Method
Finishing third place in The War Within, Method has been the perennial underdog, yet the guild which popularized livestreaming the Race to World First continues to pull out all the stops and celebrate more than two decades of raiding excellence. With a stacked roster of 12 community casters providing non-stop commentary throughout their race to world first event, you can bet they'll provide non-stop action and entertainment.

Method Team Channel

FatSharkYes
Rising to from 8th to World 5th in Manaforge Omega, FatSharkYes has historically avoided the pageantry of Race to World First events, preferring to simply do what they do best by focusing on their own gameplay and progression instead. This lack of official events doesn't mean you can't enjoy their point of view though, as some of their players will be streaming from their own Twitch channels, consolidated on their team stream.

Advance
Founded early in Shadowlands, Advance broke into the top 20 during The War Within, climbing to an impressive World 6th finish in Manaforge Omega. Following up on this success, the guild has extended their hours and increased a sevens day raid schedule, aiming to further improve their rankings in Midnight.

Asian Guilds
Often forgotten by players in the west, Chinese guilds also compete in the Race to World First, starting another day later behind EU. Despite this handicap, Chinese guilds are highly competitive, often taking up 3-5 of the top 10 spots.

During The War Within, NetEase's Thunderfire Games announced the first ever official monetary prize of ¥1.4 Million ($195k USD) to any Chinese group that wins the competition, as well as additional ¥500 thousand ($70k USD) to any which places within the top three! They've upped the ante even further in Midnight, announcing a Chinese-exclusive Hall of Fame, awarding physical trophies to the first 50 Chinese guilds to clear the three Season 1 raids on Mythic difficulty.

火锅英雄 (Huoguo Hero)
Formerly known as Chao Jie, Huoguo Hero is currently the #1 ranked guild in China, having placed World 4th in all three tiers of The War Within.

Priest healer Huangquan

佶天鸿 (JiTianHong / JTH)
Placing 5th, 7th, and 8th in the War Within, JTH continues as one of the region's premier raiding guilds, promising great competition.
