Loot Drops Are Getting an Overhaul in Diablo 4 Season 10: Better Unique Drop Chance, Useless Items No Longer Drop, and More

Diablo 4 Season 10 is getting some notable buffs to Loot to both Unique items as well as the removal of lower quality items in Torment Difficulties! With these changes, it should be much easier for players to get the gear they need to progress further into the game. Often times, one specific Unique item or Legendary Aspect is the key to unlocking a large spike in power for a character, while the lower tier Magic and Rare items do not provide much value at all. Instead of filling inventories, Blizzard has taken a step to fix the issue outright and removed the chance for Magic and Rare items to drop from Whispers, Helltide, and Side Quests entirely. Additionally, the drop chance for Unique items has also been increased across all difficulty levels.

Season 10 PTR Blog Season 10 Overview

The overall chance for Unique Items to drop has been increased across all difficulty levels.

Whispers will no longer drop Magic and Rare items in Torment difficulty.

Magic and Rare item drops from side quest rewards in Torment difficulty have been replaced with Legendary items or better.

Reward quality in Helltide has been increased in Torment difficulties.

Unique items and Legendary aspects that were primarily found in Infernal Hordes have been moved to the general pool, and the Unique items have been added to Lair Bosses' unique pools.

A smaller but equally welcome change also adds Infernal Horde Unique Items to the Lair Boss Drops and general drop pool, allowing players to drop these items easier and target farm them from specific Lair Bosses instead of having to engage in Infernal Hordes for that one specific item. Shard of Verathiel users can rejoice, no longer are you tied to Infernal Hordes for your build-enabling drop!
