Initial Item Level Caps in Legion Remix
Once you reach Level 80 in Legion Remix, gear obtained from Legion activities will continue to increase in item level. Most gear sources from Legion Remix will cap out at the current item levels, depending on the gear's quality:
Uncommon gear caps out at iLvl 571.
Rare gear caps out at iLvl 578.
Epic gear from most sources caps out at iLvl 584.
However, this is far from the maximum item level one can obtain in Legion Remix. This is where scaling gear comes in!
Scaling Gear in Legion Remix
Gear from certain sources in Legion Remix will drop at a scaling item level. After reaching a certain item level from all gear in your bags in Legion Remix, gear will start dropping 3-4 item levels higher. Once you're close to the maximum next item level tier, you'll start receiving drops with raised item levels, so on and so forth.
Legion Remix gear that can scale in this manner will scale all the way to the Legion Remix cap of iLvl 740. Gear from Legion Remix is plentiful, so you will slowly increase your item level as you continue playing.
Scaling gear drops from the following sources:
Cache of Infinite Power, rewarded from Infinite Research daily quests and dungeon queues.
Any Legion raids, no matter the difficulty.
Combining 10 Mote of a Broken Time, obtained from a variety of Legion activities.
Mythic+ end-of-dungeon chests, although gear scaling from Mythic+ is slightly different.
Mythic+ Gear in Legion Remix
Gear obtained from Mythic+ during Legion Remix does scale all the way to iLvl 740, like other scaling gear. However, gear obtained from Mythic+ has its item level locked to the key level you've completed.
Unlike in Retail Mythic+, every person in the group receives a piece of gear at the end of a Mythic+ dungeon. We've run a few Mythic+ dungeons on the 11.2.5 PTR and have come up with rough estimates for item level depending on key level.
