USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY
The World Map can now show map coordinates of the player and the cursor. Settings can be found under Gameplay > Interface.
Shift-clicking a map pin now also copies a slash command to your clipboard. The slash command (/mappin) can be shared outside the game and entered in chat to create the pin and open your map to it.
An important part of many map addons, these coordinates are the most commonly used way of finding things and sharing locational information in World of Warcraft. While sharable map pins were added in Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1, they only work in the context of being able to copy and paste the text command, which is not always feasible and can even become cumbersome when detailing several sets of coordinates. Although coordinates are often baked into other addons, this addition is yet another helpful addition, in a continued effort to improve the information available within the base game.
Though the display isn't exactly stylized, the coordinates themselves are perfectly functional.
Interestingly, the cursor coordinate disappears when mousing over an interactable part of the map, such as quest, activities, and other highlights. It's not quite clear if it's a bug or a feature, though likely an unintended byproduct of the cursor disappearing during the highlight.
