We previously highlighted Harreks' terrible workaround solution to track buffs on raid frames. Did it work? Yes. Was it practical? Not really.

Harreks, our Restoration Shaman writer, has now released an addon that includes some buff tracking, allowing healers to more easily track important buffs. This addon currently works with base UI and Danders Frames, with grid2 integration coming soon.

You can see an example in the video below:

Due to the way that this has to work, this tracking only currently works for 3 specs: Restoration Shaman's Riptide, Discipline Priest's Atonement, and Preservation Evoker's Echo. This tracking is reliable except in very certain circumstances as outlined in more detail on his blog.

The Oracle talent Unfolding Vision creates false positives due to the way that Atonement is tracked

Preservation Evoker's Zephyr creates false positives

As Harreks continues to work on this method, there should be a reduction in false positives. He has mentioned that there might be a solution to the Unfolding Vision problem, and Zephyr will likely be fixed but Dream Flight is now causing false positives.

There may be the potential for him to add more specs, so we'll have to see where this ends up after more time. For more details on how this works despite all the secret values, check out his blog.
