How to Get Reins of the Thundering August Cloud Serpent in Mists of Pandaria Classic

The The August Celestials are the defenders of the Pandarian temples, keeping the Sha infestation at bay for as long as possible. During your journey through Pandaria, you will aid them in their fight against the Sha and earn a reputation with them along the way through daily quests.

The August Celestials Reputation Guide

That reputation can bag you one of the coolest flying mounts to ever hit World of Warcraft; the Reins of the Thundering August Cloud Serpent.

To begin earning the reputation you need to acquire the coveted mount, you will need to prove yourself worthy to the The August Celestials by helping thwart the Sha at four different temples located throughout Pandaria. To do this, you will need to visit the Temple of the White Tiger within the Kun-Lai Summit zone and complete these three trials:

Temple of the White Tiger

A Celestial Experience

A Witness to History

Once you have defeated these three trials, the Vale gates will open, and you can begin completing quests to earn the reputation. While there are other ways to get into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, these pre-requisite quests must be completed to make progress with the faction. The Quartermaster for this faction is located within the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in either one of the capital cities.

Sage Whiteheart

How to Gain Reputation With The August Celestials

Once you have reached Exalted reputation with the The August Celestials, you will be able to purchase the Reins of the Thundering August Cloud Serpent for from either Sage Whiteheart or Sage Lotusbloom, respectively. Gaining reputation can take a bit of time, though, as most of the quests are daily quests, meaning they must be completed once per day to continue earning the reputation needed to reach exalted.

Here is a rundown on every way to gain reputation with the The August Celestials faction currently in Mists of Pandaria Classic.

Temple of the White Tiger
This hub grants 1250 reputation before buffs, and starts with Trial At The Temple of the White Tiger which sends you to Kun-Lai Summit.

Players fight 4 rounds of opponents training in the temple, and one option for the final round is Round 4: The P.U.G.. Tankiss yells at the Healer, Healiss is a Shadow Priest out of range of the Tank, and Hackiss complains about loot, tries to pickpocket you, and does a pathetic version of Backstab. There are more serious opponents too, like fighting against some of the initiates first encountered while questing in The Jade Forest.

Contending With Bullies or The Torch of Strength, +250

You then get one of the following opponent series:
Round 1: Brewmaster Chani, Round 2: Clever Ashyo & Ken-Ken, Round 3: The Wrestler, Round 4: The P.U.G., +1000

Round 1: The Streetfighter, Round 2: Kang Bramblestaff, Round 3: Master Boom Boom, Round 4: Master Windfur, +1000

Cradle of Chi-Ji
The Cradle of Chi-Ji is the birthplace of the Red Crane, the Southern Celestial. It is currently where young Pandaren initiates train under Thelonius. What starts off as a playful battle with initiate Ellia Ravenmane turns into something much darker, as she is unhealthily obsessed with winning and fights out of despair. With each of her letters to you after defeat, she gets more and more upset.

As you continue to return to the island and train further, you'll learn more about the Red Crane's legacy. Completing the storyline and successfully battling all the NPCs will reward Champion of Chi-Ji.
