Rank 9 Journey Upgrade - Champion to Hero
Dedicated Delvers have been making steady progress on their Delve Journey and finally reached Rank 9. With it we finally learned more about the new 'From Champion to Hero' Delve upgrade.
Upon reaching Rank 9, Tier 11 Bountiful Coffers will have a chance to drop ilvl 259 Hero (1/6) gear. If the coffer doesn't contain Hero gear, you'll instead be granted some Untainted Mana-Crystals. Tiers 8, 9, and 10 Bountiful Coffers only drop Untainted Mana-Crystals and at lower quantities, so you'll likely want to run at Tier 11 for efficiency.
To spend your Untainted Mana-Crystals, Zah'ran will appear at the end of any Tier 11 Delves now selling Hero gear, similarly to how we previously covered for Rank 5. There's a few things to note:
Hero Gear costs 1/20th the price in Untainted Mana-Crystals as Champion Gear does with Undercoin
(i.e. 4000 Undercoins vs. 200 Untainted Mana for a Trinket)
Untainted Mana-Crystals are capped at 250 per week and 1000 total.
There is no catch-up for Untainted Mana-Crystals and the currency is character specific.
While you can only earn Untainted Mana-Crystals from Bountiful Delves, Zah'ran appears at the end of every Tier 11 Delve selling Hero gear. His inventory changes with each Delve completion, so if you're looking for a specific piece of equipment consider cycling his inventory by running multiple Delves.
Delver's Journey progress being warbound means this is an excellent way to gear up alts fast. Additionally for transmog collectors and fashionistas, this method offers a valuable opportunity to collect Hero gear, upgrade it to (6/6), and then catalyze it to complete your Mythic tier set appearance.

For those looking to rush to Delver's Journey Rank 9 for the lucrative Hero gear, what's the fastest way to get there? Simply complete all Bountiful Delves everyday at Tier 8 or above; doing so will net you the greatest Journey progress.

As shown above, you can also loot Bountiful Coffer with a Restored Coffer Key or turn in Primeval Arcane Remnant for bonus Journey progress. Delver's Journey is Warband-bound, so you can speed this up by running Bountiful Delves with multiple alts.
