The item inside the sphere provides a preview of that particular reward.
Located next to The Last Architect in the neighborhood town square, the keepsake offers one of the twenty potential rewards at random, and on the surface this is pretty straightforward: accept the quest, enter the scenario, kill a few mobs, and collect your decor reward. Based on how well you perform inside the scenario, you'll receive Keepsake Corruption, which can be used to buy duplicates of that specific piece.
However, this is a weekly warband quest with twenty unique rewards, which appear to rotate at random, so collecting all of them can be a long and arduous task.
Find the Right Reward
Since it takes at least 20 weeks to acquire them all, if not even more due to the random rotation, it's important that players learn to manipulate the quest in order to prioritize the pieces they want. The reward is not actually the same for everyone or specific to anyone; it actually varies from neighborhood to neighborhood, so players can use the House Finder inside their Housing Dashboard to visit a practically endless number of different public neighborhoods until they find the reward they want.
Rather than flying back to the quest giver every time, just accept the quest once, and then check the log for its new reward.
The quest reward also appears to change within each neighborhood every day, so players have several opportunities to search around.
Maximizing Currency for More Copies
The only good news is that players who want more than one copy of each piece of decor don't need to wait for another week to do the quest all over again, as they can purchase duplicates for 100 Keepsake Corruption. Unfortunately, the scenario can only be completed once per week, and its currency also resets each week, so players only have one chance per quest to acquire enough and buy what they want.
100 Keepsakes go toward the quest; the rest you get to keep to purchase extras.
The scenario is extremely straightforward and could even be outright boring to some, though the optimal strategy isn't immediately apparent. If you just enter the scenario and kill everything as quickly as possible, you will probably return with 100 currency or less, barely enough to buy one copy. The trick is to defeat mobs while they are atop the toxic green pools of corruption which litter the scenario, which will cause them to award significantly more currency. This may be more difficult than it sounds, though, since the scenario has public matchmaking and may group you with a random player who isn't interested in following the same game plan.
Use the mobs to clear the puddles!
Of course, it's not quite that simple. Each time a mob is defeated, the pool underneath them will be removed, so you can't just stand in one place and AoE everything down, but must pull mobs from location to location and defeat them one at a time. Diligently doing so can award over 600 Keepsake Corruption, allowing you to purchase several copies of your favorite decor.
You can only purchase decor from quests you have completed, so neighborhood hopping won't help you get further ahead.
Purified Decor
There are twenty unique pieces of purified decor to collect, and since it will require an equal number of weeks to obtain them all, players are highly recommended to pick and prioritize their favorites.
